Did you heater motor and your windshield washer die at same time? Do you have electrical gremlins?
You need to check power to plugs and switches, and maybe also look for surges in current.
MH), YMMV
Before you do anything, do you have any idea why it stopped working. Is it electrical? Is it mechanical?, Did you pull it apart to see if it can be fixed? Is it a bad brush internally? Is it a switch issue? Is a wire bad externally? Did you check power to the plug?
MHO, YMMV
From my research I think you're dead on target with stuff you said.
You might need to raise body 2 inches. Dog House needs swappin'. Not sure about electrics.
I respect your candor.
Even Dirty Harry said - "A man's gotta know his limitations".
Good luck with your rig!

P.S. I hope you were able to save the frog you found. It ain't easy being green.
So here is my question...
4L80 with the above controller needs exactly what to install and function?
Soup to nuts, what is required to change from TH400 to 4L80, using your setup, and including finicky small electrics and brackets and such.
What are the prices involved?
I'm about to do a...
I have other Diesel vehicles.
My LandCruiser is 24 Volt. I used a vendor who I was told was awesome. I specifically told him 24 Volt glowplugs and he replied he understood 24 Volt. He sent 12 Volt and I needed refund and new glowplugs of appropriate Voltage.
Trust no one, and double check...
"Modified slantback", looks like it had a little trim off the back? In "barber talk," that is.
I like the way that looks!
Perhaps a window cut into back, or are you gonna use a rear view camera?
So, given the step down converters are relatively cheap, I have decided to just buy 3 converters and do away with the relays. Seems more reliable, more easily repairable, and less finicky.
13-15 bucks per step down converter should cover incandescent and LED bulbs.
MHO, and if someone wants to...
I don't understand... What about shift 1?
Are you only shifting b/t 2 and 4? Are you in limp mode?
What speeds do you feel your shifts? What is your top speed?
The three speed shifter has two removable threaded round pieces, the "knob" and the "plunger". They are "female" threaded.
Each piece is removed with counterclockwise rotation.
Then drill your knob "grenade" on the bottom to fit the handle and on the top to fit the threads AND the "plunger"...
When swapping in LED bulbs, the linker assembly can have issues. First and easiest is to remove the green cap in the Nartron Signal Controler (the flasher at the left side of steering wheel), and remove the bulb. Replace only with LED bulb.
After that, there might be issues with the flasher...
