So, first out of the gate: Welcome to the Outfit! .
Wow! That is neat for sure...
It almost looks like a mechanics service truck. Might be or not.
Congratulations on your rescue!
I don't know about you, but somehow getting the motor to crank or not seems to be first priority...

Kenneth Cole ,
What was said by Retiredwarhorses really is true... The sitting and waiting to be helped part happens and worse than that is trying really hard to find it yourself - and it "just isn't working". All of us have had that problem at some point in time. The most difficult...
.
So true @Chainbreaker .
I had a guy who had the first house in the area with electric power in it. Roughly two blocks away from my house... It was two cloth covered wires that ran outside of the walls. A light on the staircase, one in several rooms in the house. There was no light switch...

Yes Sir Guy! Our kind of gal... She appears to be a staunch supporter of the second amendment and obviously physically fit because she bounced right up there into the drivers seat of a big ol' 5-Ton.

Without knowing about all the Air Force trucks and how they were done, I don't know that we can say for sure. The Air Force did have its own builds that were painted in Strata Blue from top to bottom. There were some that were green too. I personally have seen a few pictures where the...

Most of the time the lip of the pan gets bent. During a new gasket install, or during the factory install or some other way. If you just planned on several days for the job and slate one day for just the pan - it will work like it should.
There will be dimples around every hole in the pan...

Welcome from North Carolina!
She is a nice looking truck! Looks like the guy you got it from has taken good care of it.
The drop chains on the bed have their no-rattle covers on them.
The front axles have freewheeling adapters installed.
So very neat that some of those updates have...

abfisher1798 I'm not the expert by any means, but that is a standard TruckPro or NAPA part.
Replacing that valve might be a better option.
Just BE SURE that you take pictures so nothing gets "plumbed" in weird or differently than it is now. There are in and out flowing air tubes and you...
.
Nice idea - and even better with experience behind it! Thank You.
AND, it looks like you might be a new guy around here just based on the numbers.
Welcome to the outfit and thanks for contributing to the knowledge here!

Now that battery box hold-down gizmo only needs a little sanding and painting and sheetmetal and maybe a couple of bolts...
Maybe a little bondo or fiberglass and it will look like new again
.
Might not be as awful as you think. You mentioned that you already have experience with solar. You know what it cost to do what you did. Just need to multiply that by three to create your 3-Phase circuit... I have seen several discussions where folks have had a machine with industrial...

Welcome to the outfit martellus !
Several of the guys have tracked vehicles here and depending on how high you set your sights, a tank could be had. You got to see that in Virginia last weekend. For sure, all that depends on how fat your wallet might be and how much work you can do on it...

Maybe you can fancy up your steering wheel like you said. And go small if you want to.
If everything goes bad and you loose power steering, you could attach your custom made "club" to the wheel and drive on - but don't turn too tightly.
.
MWO's could also be safety related updates.
My guess in answer to your question hmw23 about replacing wiring would be about zero. If a truck wiring harness was so bad off as to need a replacement, I would imagine that the truck would be cabalized and DRMO would handle it from there.
No...
