    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

Justin is correct. We will find a way. I just re read my post above and realized I was pretty negative. My thought was present the facts in such a way as the person traveling 400 miles in a CUCV would not have false hopes or ideas that were crushed upon arrival. I did that, but it might...

    My "New" CUCV M1008

The -20 takes you through the coolant light. Unplug at radiator, light should be on. Ground the wire and light should go out. If yours does this, then you need a new sensor. I got one at ORielly's for $8.50 I think a few weeks ago.

    Tire size to speedometer

I did use a gps. I have gotten so spoiled with the gps that I pretty much use it instead of the speedometer in any vehicle I drive now. However, there are times when you won't be able to lock it up and it needs to stay home. For that reason, I want to get my speedo as close as I can...

    Tapatalk

I have an iPhone and have no problem using it to access this site. I have to enlarge and move stuff around a lot, but it is workable. Same with other sites I go to. I am mobile and can get my green iron fix. Great. Most of you know I am one of the admins on the 715 Zone. A member...

    Tire size to speedometer

There is a reduction box on the speedometer drive off the t-case. That might have been swapped out for the wrong one some time in the past 25 years. Mine reads about 3 mph fast at all speeds on my M1009. I plan to go junk yarding next week to collect some more boxes and play with them until I...

    m1008 brakes sprung a leak

1984 K30 with the J code 6.2 will get you civilian parts. New wheel cylinders are cheap, get one and if the line looks bad, replace it as well. You might spend $20 total. Pretty cheap for not having to worry about it or mess with it for a number of years. Make sure you adjust your shoes when...

    center console

OK, getting it keyed for our keys is what I figured would have to happen. But, wanted to make sure that was what you did. I was going to try and find a glove box lock from a regular Chevy of that vintage and try to do the same with it. Two lockable areas would be nice. Thanks!

    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

Mudstone, the place is not ADA compliant. The restrooms are in an old house sitting on blocks that has been converted to a pair of huge restrooms and a large gathering area with a pot belly stove. I guess I should write pier and beam type antique house so it sounds better. I don't think the...

    center console

blitzengine, how did you find a lock cylinder that works with the CUCV key? I tried my key in the junkyard console I got and it wouldn't even go in, much less work.

Scott, When you start as a fish at A&M, you are put into a class. I started in the fall of '87. That makes me class of '90. Very few people finish in the year of their class, if at all. Have you noticed that all the Maroon and White stickers on cars say "Texas A&M Association of Former...

    Lower Radiator hose

The Gasser radiator has the top inlet on the drivers side compared to the passenger side on the multi. The lower is in the same spot though. Most importantly, a Gasser radiator is about 1-2 inches shorter. Spend the money to find a good multi radiator, have the outlets moved and resized...

    gas milage of a cucv

I think speed needs to be mentioned because the 6.2 is "happy" up to a point and then it just starts pouring fuel in. I have gotten 20.1 and 20.3 driving around town and short highway runs at 65 mph. I did 120 miles at 65-70 and after topping off, figured 19.1. I have to got to San Antonio...

    need a tool

The inspection port on the bottom of the bellhousing is supposed to just have a sheet metal cover. Supposed to keep trash out of the clutch. Shoot some grease into your throw out bearing before you close it up. I personally like the oil bath filter. You fill it to the full mark, put it on...

What kind of shirts you have in mind? With all of us Aggie types coming, we might all have to start putting our year after our names. Tim '90.

    Lower Radiator hose

Antelope Valley, OD Iron and Memshis all have new Gasser M35 upper and lower hoses. I think my new ones came from OD Iron 3 or 4 years ago. Be real nice to your radiator, figure close to $1000.00 to get a new perfect condition Gasser replacement. They are not the same as the multi radiator.

    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

Opening weekend is one of the things we talked about in the other thread when trying to set this up. Dove Season, Football Season and Deer Season pretty much define the fall in Texas as we all know. Most of us have also come to realize that opening weekend is more an invitation to get shot...

    need a tool

TM 9082 is the full number for the 1953 or so published manual. I got mine from a guy in Lexington KY. I am pretty sure I have seen them in either MVM or the MVPA magazines for sale. Every now and then on EBay also. If you have leaks between the large air part of the pack and the smaller...

    Lower Radiator hose

As Jeff pointed out, that winch has a lot of sharp edges facing toward the radiator. I put a hole in my Gasser radiator that way and don't plan to move the radiator again unless it is coming out. Pulling the alternator is fast and easy. Plus, it gives you a good reason to swap out the primary...

    Second Bi-Annual TX MV Rally

I will have the M35A2, a flat bed trailer and the M715 for sure. My wife might drive the M1009 over depending on the weather and her mood at the time. Of course, if it looks like rain. I might bring the 1009 instead of the convertible M715.

    Any left in Texas?

There is a guy in Caldwell that might want to sell his soon. PM Pistolnut and see what he says. Very easy and short 100 miles from Austin since the truck runs.
