Mine does the same thing. 3-4 mph fast, but steady at all speeds up to around 50. Then it starts jumping 10-15 mph fast. I put in a new speedo, oiled the cable and made sure the little reduction box at the t-case spins free. Now it stays steady up to around 60, then jumps at times and goes back...
I just pull the alternator and the alternator mount once the hose has been taken off the radiator and is draining the system. I have found that easier and faster to get the job done.
Yep, The TM9082 tells you how and has pictures. So does the -20.
Figure $250-$300 for a good air pack. You might want to try to learn how to take them apart.
I am not out of room yet, so things are still being collected and not sold.
The vent for the air pack is T'ed into the vent for the fuel tank. If you are getting fuel smells at the rear, then your airpack needs to come off and get rebuilt. They are easy to do. Rebuild kits show up on Ebay...
I have a pair of Gassers. The yellowish truck with the white top at the left of my avatar picture is the 1953 parts truck. The all USMC green truck second from the right in my picture is the fully redone and running 1952 Gasser. Search for my post about Gassers and you will see most of my...
Fuel filter is on the drivers side between the fuel pump and the fuel shut off valve on the frame.
Oil filter is on the passenger side front of the engine. Big round thing with a single bolt in the lid.
As Joe wrote. Get the manuals. At least go to the "resources" button at the top of...
We don't get to go all the way to the Brazos. Close, but not all the way.
From Amarillo, take 287 to Ft. Worth. I-35W South to Waco. Hwy 6 South to FM2818. Then, Villa Maria West to TX47. Turn North on the feeder and at the first cross over, drive up to the gate. Figure 8 hours in a...
Here is the park website:
Hours & Locations
What to bring is really up to you. My son and I slept in the bed of my M35 in March, cooked our own meals and used the rest room/shower on site. Drive a car, throw up a tent and run to town for meals if you want. "town" by the way is Bryan/College...
Send a PM to Pistolnut. He lives in Caldwell and mentioned to me the other day that he might want to sell of his Whistler M35A2 since he doesn't drive it enough.
There are a lot of us in the area. Welcome to the madness. You should be warned that if you buy one. You won't be able to resist buying another, then another, another, etc..
Runk, is that a MGA or bug eye Sprite? I have a '57 A that is waiting for me to pay attention to it and a '67 Cooper...
The 101 is technically too big, too heavy and not supposed to be pulled by the M1009 according to the manuals.
That being written, I used my M1009 to pull my M101A2 full of camping gear for a Scout camp out last weekend. I don't have sides, bows or a cover for the 101. So, I put my shade...
Thanks about the handle. I had the stock CUCV handle in a vise last night. Pin out and it still wouldn't come apart. I will try soaking in penetrating oil and make a science project out if I guess. Patience, it all comes down to that it seems.
3.08 axles really take away any mechanical advantage the engine might have. Especially if you added bigger tires. I have gotten to where I put whatever I am driving in Low for any incline like a trailer and for objects taller than my fist. I used to just push the loud pedal more. Driving the...
I just posted about this over on the Zone. Probably get some people from that group involved.
I think we covered this back in March. However, for those that don't want to go research.
Lots of room for trucks, trailers, campers, motorhomes, tents and such. Feed yourself in whatever manner...
I had the same thing loading mine on the trailer picking it up. no guts. I put it in low and it jumped right up. Mine wasn't slipping though. Am I reading yours wrong?
Count me in. I have been away from the computer all week. Sorry about the slow reply.
Probably be the M35 and M715 again. Might bring the M1009 instead just to see how it does on trails.
Colton will be with me again.
