MV ignition distributor with Civilian Wires

Looks good. Just for fun, go north of town to the airport and visit with the mechanic. He might have some aircraft plug wires sitting around. Depending on the models, some of them might fit the military cap and plugs. The A&P in Kendallville used to be named Williams. If he is still there...

    Tx. registration

Thanks for the kind words NDT. Here is the thread I think people are asking for: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/9593-texas-former-military-vehicle-registration.html Here is a very similar thread I started over on the Zone about it: Former Military Vehicle Tags (Texas) - M715...

    HEMTT Crane use...daily!

You know Tom. I didn't realize how much I missed you posting until now. I mean that in a good way. Glad Velvet is on all 4's again and the crane is worth all the time, effort and money you put into it.

    Big thanks to Warthog

Way to go Joe. You got the hook set with a Duece and now you are reeling him in with a 5 ton. Us sick people need to keep spreading the disease any way we can. Oh, Goat. You won't find many people better or as honest as Wart Hog so trust what he says.

    Deuce with single rear wheels

I was looking at that truck online this morning. Yes, it is ok to drive. Matter of fact, I just changed my M35A2 to those exact tires a week or so ago. Drives better, turns better and just "feels" better going down the road if that makes sense.

HEMMT M977 Crane Swap Deuce Project

Since "Blue" is now the crane truck, what is the name of the new truck? As always, you teach us some new way to use a part most of us would have not even considered. Good job on the truck Tom.

How long does she have doc

Toole was where the rebuild was done. It is outside of Salt Lake City. There is probably a sticker on one of the oil filters claiming that as well. Service it with clean fuel, oil and air. Don't try to make it run more than 2600 rpm for days on end and it will probably out last you.

Cold start valves Where to buy?

Thanks for the info. I just looped my fuel line around to the injector return line and have left the valve in the intake. No fuel or air leaks for now. No cold assist either.

    Should I tow M109 with M35A3?

I have had the same problems with the front wheels. The longer the tow bar, the less of a problem.

Looking good, welcome back and how is the foot?

    Foot Starter Switch

The foot switch has about 10 pieces. You should be able to stand by the drivers front tire and grab the firewall side of the pedal. Pull there and see if the starter works. There is a long bar that goes over the back of the engine and then back down to the starter. I think I have a picture...

    New member from Bryan, TX

There really isn't a museum there yet. Just a sign saying it will be there and the super structure from the Tarrowa scattered in the field. I had an excuse to go look a month ago while searching out flat fender parts. The next real "event" around here is Veterans Day parades. Follow the...

    Truck dies/starts hard

Check the fuel line running under the radiator on the frame rail. They get smushed on GL lots sometimes. It reads to me as a fuel problem. When you open the bleeder above the secondary filters with the engine running, does fuel fly all over the place or just dribble?

    m715 brush truck rebuild

Since the truck has a v8, all you have to do is put another one in there. A few hours work basically. But, I wouldn't count on it going anywhere very fast. The short shaft is missing, somebody welded a pipe on the rear drive shaft and the electricals look kind of scary. I don't see a...

    stock deuce 65 mph

The original M35's had Gas engines and a 3053 5 speed transmission. The shift pattern was like this: r 2 4 1 3 5 5th was a direct 1:1 ratio. The Gasser engines have like a 3400 red line by the way. 4 parts are changed in the Gasser transmission to make it a 3053A. Basically the...

Finally got my 11:00 20Rs mounted!

I just put 11.00's on my Whistler yesterday. Huge difference in road manners. My gps said I was exactly 10% faster than indicated. As in 20 indicated=22 gps. 40 indicated=44 gps, etc...

M715 Blackout stop light and trailer plug

The bracket is just bent steel. Here is a stock bracket and a piece of 12 gauge I bent next to each other. Along with a picture of the set up on the truck.

    It died, HELP

Turn the pump on, open the drain on the primary filter and let it go until it is clean of goo. then do the same with the secondary and final filter. If you get no flow at any point, figure out why. A frowned upon way to start it might take 2 people. With a COLD engine, pull the intake...

    M715 Federal Certification Label

Do you mean a DOT certificate or something? What year is your truck? That makes a huge difference in your state. A 1967 is no problem. A '68 or '69 causes registration issues.

    M715 Federal Certification Label

The data plate on the dash is all that ever came with the truck.
