There is a video here on the site that shows an M2 being fired from a Deuce with an M66. It's been posted here multiple times, I looked for awhile and couldn't find the link. I think it's in a thread and has it's own thread.
Find another mechanic. Seriously.
The RTV/Permaseal/etc in the keyway is fine. I've never bothered to obtain/create a piece of cork. But I do always let them sit and cure for 24 hours.
Ok, here's the trick:
I too, no matter how hard I tried, couldn't keep the ring and groove and boot grease free. This is just one of those jobs where you will end up with grease everywhere.
After the inner is on, I pull the outer part of the boot on as best as I can. Start tightening the...
People like that are the lowest of the low!
I ran an item once (for the company I work for) and I got it way wrong (in terms of what it was and what it fit) and an ebay member emailed me and let me know, even sent me a link with more info and this allowed me to pull the auction and relist it...
I need the air control valve for the Deuce air wipers-this is the older style, all metal, where you turn the knob all the way in/out to open/shut the valve-NOT the newer style with a plastic knob.
I also need a known good 3053A Deuce OD 5speed.
I think Dawn needs a passenger side west coast...
Hey Mike,
Can you PM me (or post) a rough menu with prices; as I am currently putting together the 2010 thread and another SS member is working on the website.
Gimpy, the sound of this thread is that you rebuilt your short style airpack. Where did you source the kit and do you have an NSN? All I can find is the long one.
Can anyone verify this is accurate?
I have several airpacks to rebuild and i have several of the 2530-00-040-2190 kits and before I get an airpack disassembled on the bench I'd like to make sure I have the right kit.
Thanks

I have 2 or 3 of these kits, but I need a couple for the shorties. aua
EDIT:
Well Gimpy say's they (the shorties) definitely take their own kit:

So I definitely need to find some shorty kits.
Ken, earlier trucks did not use an air shift transfer case. They used what was called a sprag and it automatically engaged the front axle when the tires started to spin.
Since these earlier units engage themselves, they do not have an engagement switch under the dash.
