Gimpy, the sound of this thread is that you rebuilt your short style airpack. Where did you source the kit and do you have an NSN? All I can find is the long one.

Can anyone verify this is accurate? I have several airpacks to rebuild and i have several of the 2530-00-040-2190 kits and before I get an airpack disassembled on the bench I'd like to make sure I have the right kit. Thanks C

Ken, earlier trucks did not use an air shift transfer case. They used what was called a sprag and it automatically engaged the front axle when the tires started to spin. Since these earlier units engage themselves, they do not have an engagement switch under the dash. Do a search of the forum...
