Need electrical advise on M1008 please

Yes. Everything that is powered from the switch went dead. Fuel pump solenoid closed and truck died. Voltmeter showed nothing and the gen 1 and gen 2 lights would not light up. Heater fan quit working. The fusible links looked ok but when I pulled on them slightly and one stretched and pulled...

Need electrical advise on M1008 please

No. All fusible links are no longer than 9 inches. The original fusible links are connected to the wire by a hard plastic connector. All you have to do is cut these off and replace with the same size fusible link. I was just trying to point out which one might be burned into. I had this one to...

Need electrical advise on M1008 please

I would check the Diagram E-3-1 Red2R-12 volt engine wiring harness block-12 volt to ignition switch- 16 ga. fusible link. This is one of the fusible links that comes off the 12 diamond on the firewall by the glow plug relay. It goes to the ignition switch on the column. These fusible links can...

I went to the steel store.....

According to the American Petroleum Institute Arizona has 27 cents State tax on diesel and 24.4 cents federal tax on diesel for a total of 51.4 cents. This should be reflected in the difference in off road and highway diesel pricing. In Oklahoma there is 14 cents state tax and 24.4 cents federal...

That's confusing. What is the advantage of even having off road diesel if it is higher priced?

Dielectric grease can be one of your best friends on any electric connection. Makes plugging and unplugging a lot easier as well as making a better connection that will not corrode!

    Would you pay $17,000.00 for a M1009?

Heck, I have a nice original M1009 from Ft. Sill that would be a bargain for $14,995 compared to a modified one. I could probably find you some ocean front property in OK to go with it!

    M1009 vibration

The m1009 has a real short rear driveshaft to start with. If this ride has always had this vibration the rear end yoke angle may not be matching the rear of the transfer case yoke angle. A transfer case mount or the rear springs could be causing a problem with this. Sometimes the correct shim...

    So my battery EXPLODED today

I had the same thing happen on a tractor one day with two 12 volt batteries in parallel. I turn the key to start and one battery exploded very loudly. Never did know what the cause was. I washed tractor real good with water and then sprayed liberally with a multi purpose spray lube to kill the acid.

    fuel bleeding problem

I agree 3 gallons is not enough fuel in tank to prime system. I have experienced this on a M1009. More fuel in tank will probably help.

    Getting ready for Haspin 2015

I would highly recommend Mystik JT7 gear oil. It stands up to heat really well and still performs like it should. Better than most Mil Spec Mil-PRF-2105E lubricants. It will last twice as long in a tractor rearend without the heat breaking it down and it lubricates better all the time.
