It is a good idea to fully fill any oil filter before installing on these engines, but it is especially important to fill the "2 quart" filter to prevent dry starts!
Big block engines in Chevy and GMC medium duty trucks came out factory with this filter a long time ago. I have never seen any problem with the spin on adapter. This long filter actually adds 1 quart capacity above a standard filter. The increased filtration media is as big a plus as the...
I have a pyrometer on a John Deere 4 wheel drive tractor rated at 235 drawbar HP. Engine HP is 275. This is a 6 cylinder turbo with inner cooler Under normal load it runs about 900 degrees. I am told to not pull it hard enough to reach 1000 degrees. Above 1000
degrees metal goes to doing funny...
I second this motion!! The wax at the right temp will run into tight spaces, let it cool and it will expand enough to separate the two pieces. The wax also is a lubricant to ease further movement.
There is a good chance that it is the bullet that Jed Clampett shot at the rabbit with his black powder gun when he struck oil. It would take a heavy bullet like this to reach an oil formation. There was not any way of controlling how far one of these bullets went after shooting it, so it could...
You did install the starter brace on the end of your starter didn't you? If not you are asking for more trouble. With the oversize hole this starter will be prone to breaking mounting bolts and or the holes in the block.
I agree 100% with you doghead! I always buy AC DELCO starters & alternators or rebuild the old ones. A correctly rebuilt DELCO starter will outperform any aftermarket starter and it will fit correctly. And you are being good to your flywheel and engine block at the same time. I recommend AC...
Is there a way to install electric windshield wipers on the M915A-1? Has anyone done this already? If this drought breaks in western OK wipers will be in style again! All help appreciated!
I have a lot of hard to take apart things on the farm. John Deere has a multi purpose spray lube that I like. It is a thin liquid spray that is a penetrant as well as a lubricant. It will work when others fail for me. If this fails like on an exhaust stud that is frozen to manifold I heat it...
I use my M1031 every day on the farm. I have a Pro Fab bale bed mounted on it. Hauls hay year round due to drought, hauls pallets of feed, seed, and everything else. It have pulled 11 big round bales loaded on a 33' tandem dual trailer out of soft sandy fields. I pull a 1000 gallon nurse tank to...
I also recommend changing both flashers with high quality heavy duty ones. Even if they work part of the time they are usually old and a source of problems. These are inexpensive so replace them both!
Hey at least you got an email. I was awarded high bidder on a truck a few months ago and never received an invoice or an email notifying me they had pulled them after they sold. I was just left stranded on the side of the road!
