    Elijah95s wrecker project

Yup - "Holmes" kit. What do you need to know about it? It's for chain lifts of the front bumper. There are a lot of pics and discussion within the following thread... Wrecker wishlist of mods | Page 2 | SteelSoldiers There is further expansion of this set up in my thread on the G503 forum...

Army Corps of Engineers 1963 D6B Caterpillar Bulldozer

That makes three of us! In my case - I do horses all day long (farrier) so let to wife do her thing at the weekends etc., ecxept for the tractor work! And she says - "I don't care what 'green crap' you buy, so long as I don't have to look at it (in the yard/around the house)"! Haven't got any...

    R.I.P. - David "MWMULES" Christenberry

I too feel blessed that I met Dave, enjoyed his company, stories, deals and shipping assistance and can concur with comments above. If there is one word that when uttered, will always remind me of him and the aura of insite he spread.... "SNAUSAGES"

    Tow bar

Yes they can be used for pushing, but mass and geometry (height/angle, distance to other axles, weight etc.,) will dictate sucess. I regularly use half of a towbar (also known as a rigid bar) for manouvering vehicles in the yard - BUT you do need another person to steer. Off road, a rigid bar...

Sept 23-24 2022 Redball Military vehicle show Gilbert, PA Buy-sell-trade thread

Looking to find some tow bar feet that use the 1.5" pins. I have two wrecker (M816/543/936) single snatch blocks - really good shape. Also have a medium/heavy tow bar - non telescoping (NOT 1.5" pins).

    M123A1C

Would make a hell of a wrecker! No good on the highway, slow and wide but damn, that would be a great project..... Sub-freaking-scribed. (if that is still a thing?)

    Weare, NH MV show.

Loved the show, met some new good people and as always, some old friends and aquaintances... HOWEVER some light fingered a$$ hat walked off with a recovery crowbar from my trailer whilst we were out for the Fri evening ice cream run or over night. The neck was lowered to the ground as I had...

CDL Requirements for 5 Tons (m934)

Interesting - I just got off the phone with the folks in Albany that are the arbiters for 'younger than 25 years' applications for historical tags - all others are dealt with by 'special plates' dept. I was checking that I can register my semi trailer, an '89, that is the correct trailer to go...

Shrinking bent trailer cross beams. M870A1

Well there isn't really a metal work/fab/repair forum and it's not exactly body work.. but I had some cross member bends to take care of on the trailer. Probably caught by a piece of oversized equipment when unloading (otherwise center boards would be inplace) Used screw binders/chains to...

M870A1 - Daytons, luv em or hate em..

Growing up, all "The Americans" we saw locally were from RAF Weathersfield - used by USAF 819 REDHORSE - so I guess somewhere that red horse driving a bulldozer struck a chord!! I do like dozers too. Oh.. and in my line of work, I enjoy the horses more than most of the owners!!!

M870A1 - Daytons, luv em or hate em..

There is stenciling on the 5th wheel slide for positioning both M870 and M172, TM lists both as well. Winch on rear also specifically required for 870.
