I like the way they had the fuel tank INSIDE the armored truck.......one lucky shot through a chink in the armor and you have a load of "Crispy Critters". Appearently safety is not a concern for the builders or the morons that drive these things.
This is a classic case of why we need to pull...
I have a change of vehicle plan....the Dakota will not haul the deuce fenders......I will be pulling a 26 foot gooseneck trailer......if anybody close by needs to send something up or have something up there hauled back let me know ASAP.
I have two new recapped HUMVEE tires, a M105 crank up landing gear (with the two small wheels on it), a brand new 5 ton fuel tank (for the 5 ton dump or tractor), and some of the 24 volt cords that plug into the NATO slave adaptor.
I also have a large pull start military gasoline powered air...
I have very heavy load of metal on mine and I just pulled it 15 miles with my auxillary duece...pulled like it was not even back there. I doubt that setup you got is anywhere near as heavy as the load pictured.
The bed will set on the front crossmember just fine and you can leave enough room...
I would drop that styrofoam like a bad habit and have it sprayed inside with insulation foam.....after I made sure all external leaks were sealed. Seal the outside with "Coolseal" (what you paint the roof of mobile homes with).
I am assuming you are going to mount bed and all on the...
Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy. :cookoo:
Very nice rig.
Lots of folks from FL will be coming up for the GA Rally in Oct.
Come join the madness and meet a bunch of your fellow green iron addicts.:jumpin:
Good folks, good food and good people.[thumbzup]
The bobtails are in case a tractor goes down...they can swap them out and keep trucking.
The wrecker snags the breakdown and pulls it to the next maint stop.
Not to mention the cell mate "Big Bubba" that want to call you Geni and rub you like a lamp.
I have driven them back and had them trailered....just depends on your threshhold for excitement.
I can slave off my M35A2's without batteries but rumor control has it that running one very long without batteries will kill an alternator. Don't know if that is true of the A3's as well.
The asking price is small change for a drug cartel.....getting past those pesky underwater listen stations might be a problem.
Strange that I missed that item on GL.:cookoo:
My M816 rode on a 48 foot stepdeck from MS to AL.
The stack may have to be removed.
They weigh 36K pounds so the tractor and trailer have to be light.
Loading and unloading can be a challenge if the truck doesn't run.
The Jenny and trailer I bought at Redstone on 6/2/2011 did not require an EUC.....got my paid invoice today.....I get to pick it up on Tuesday............WOO HOO!!!
The deuce fenders have all been sold to CCEQUIPMENT.....we will be delivering them early Sat morning...prob hang around till late afternoon.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
Elmo will be signing autographs all day.rofl
If the price is right on totes I'll take at...
It has the same engine as the HEMMT.....440 Detriot V-8 two stroke diesel.
I drove them in Korea and 4 MPG is a wet dream with a load on.
That thing has not one but two V-8 Driptroit engines in it, one just to run the pump......unless you have a fuel truck following you around it will be a...
Welcome and thanks for your service.....I missed the Nam by six months...my first duty station was in 73 at Fort Campbell and the 101st had just got back.
If you can make it to the GA Rally in Oct Papa Bear will have his replica gun truck there along with some other cool stuff you will...
I just picked up 5 NOS deuce right front fenders in the crates.
These do not have the GL dent normally associated with attached right front fenders.rofl
To haul them that far I would have to get $200.00 each since my Dakota sucks gas.
That's prob still cheap freight rate. It would be...
10 rims at 50 lbs each (my guesstimate)= 500 pounds
500 X 10 bucks per hundred weight= 50 bucks for scrap
Under optimum conditions it will take you a couple of hours to break down 10 tires.
I don't see the profit margin here.
Maybe you are much younger and spryer than I am.rofl
Some...
