    Norman OK recovery

Wow, that's a clean looking truck! Congrats! I like that paint scheme and it even has my favorite side mirrors on it...:-D

    R.I.P.--ARMYMAN30YearsPlus--David Frankenhauser

FYI, that MapQuest map is off a little. The Funeral home is actually the building north of West Road (closest to the Beltway), with all of the dirt in front of it. They expanded their parking lot in that area not too long ago. It is all paved now.

    canvas cover 105a2 fit 103a3

I think the measurement from front of front bow to back of rear bow is slightly longer, but I didn't think it was that much. I would think you could still wrangle the cover most of the way down, as the pockets and even the steel bows have a little play/flexibility. I've not actually tried it...

    canvas cover 105a2 fit 103a3

It won't reach the bottom on the sides, but it will fit over the bows as it does on the M105. It would definitely keep the wood dry. I'm not sure the ropes will be long enough to tie off on factory tie-points of the M103, but I wouldn't mind knowing if you find out...

    Help needed identifying M813

There must be a date of manufacture on the frame somewhere. Are there any numbers on the passenger side of the frame?? Any frame numbers I have seen have been VERY faint, so you've really got to look for them. If you could at least figure out the date, you could build a VIN from that and the...

Why does all the cool stuff auction in Hawaii!

I liked how the GL guy was nice enough to stand on the cowl for an engine pic, because you're really can't get good enough pics by standing on the tire or anywhere else....

    Should I buy it?

BUY IT!!! :-D $800 is cheap for any MUTT, in my opinion. There's that much in parts in it.

    Converting M818 to M813

Cool, but why did you not opt for the deuce bed? Just curious if you had some advantage/disadvantage in mind?

    Gasser deuce found on craigslist

Hmm, it says "converted to" dump, so I wouldn't be too sure it's a true M215, but it's still probably a decent deal for a converted dumper.

Ok talk me out of it.

Wrong place to ask for someone to talk you out of it, unless they want it for themselves!!!

    Maryland SS Chapter

I'd be up for this, too. I'm sure I won't make them all, but I'll give it a shot.

    Cucv

This has been hashed over before (check some older threads in the CUCV forum), but I agree with kennyw. It varies, A LOT! Watch the sales in MD, PA, and VA (not much in WV, usually) for a month or two and then you'll have a good idea what you should be bidding. I would inspect anything you are...

    Ran before parked....

Sorry, I should have said this is an M818, Cummins NHC-250. They're rated at 2100 max RPM....
  15. CUCVFAN

    Ran before parked....

I always get a kick out of this. It's sort of along the lines of the "Ran when parked" story, but not exactly. I like when GL says "Unknown Running Condition" and then includes pics of the trucks freshly "windowed" block.:cookoo: Of course, the first pic might explain the second. Who was...

    M1009 Towing 4 Wheels Down

I would only add to Kenny's instructions (after "remove rear drive shaft"): disconnect the batteries.

What happens when they get crossed?

If those are the lines that shift the t-case sprag from forward to reverse and back (and they appear to be), nothing good can come from swapping them. :( It's sort of like backing up and then starting off in 2nd without going to 1st (the sprag is still in reverse). I hope that is not the case...

Is it possible? M1008 to M1031 Maint Truck

See figure 151 of the -34P for the overload springs. The main spring pack is the same, but the other hardware (U-bolts, spacer plates, etc.) are different. If you take the entire rear and spring pack and grind the rivets off the frame mounted overload spring pads and take them, you'll have...

    New Radiator

Very few manufacturers are making 4-cores anymore and if you find one it's probably more luck than anything. Most mfrs reserve the right to substitue a 3-core for a 4-core, since the cooling abililty of newer radiators is supposedly "better". I have 3-cores in all of my CUCV's and have never...
