MEP-802/803/831 Generator Control & Parameter Monitor by WIFI Demo

gotcha. Was going to say you could drop by anytime you needed a hand but that is a good ways away.

MEP-802/803/831 Generator Control & Parameter Monitor by WIFI Demo

I hope so! :D I expect he will be along soon to help. Where are you located in Virginia?

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

I'll tell you what I'm NOT doing with mine today in near 100 degree heat.. ANYTHING! :ROFLMAO:

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

+1, check your voltages and frequency in the house. Don't blindly trust the meters on the generator.

    Using thicker oil

On the plus side I bet its clean as a whistle inside! :D

    Using thicker oil

As the oil runs its viscosity drops. If you know its going to be days more of running then do an oil change with thicker oil. More than anything as soon as the critical event is over you need to get to the bottom of the oil pressure problem. Could be something as simple as a partially stuck...

803a sustained load in high heat.

Yea, RVs are horribly inefficient for heating and cooling. I lived full time in a 35' rig while my house was being built and the power consumption of the RV in summer rivaled my 1650 sq/ft house!

    Mep-803a help

Putting diodes in parallel is not good practice. You can have uneven current distribution across the group which can over stress one relative to the others. Its best to use a single higher current diode.

803a sustained load in high heat.

We went through 2 open frame generators here at home during an ice storm that took out power for about 10 days. Engines failed on both. Both brand new. I've not had one of the military units fail mechanically. I've had them spring fuel leaks but thats the worst that has happened. One of the...

MEP Generator Output Waveforms and THD

I think most items that would be affected to the point of concern have gone out of favor (analog radio and TV being ones that come to mind). I know there are concerns with running sensitive medical equipment on low quality power. All I could say is to follow the manufacturers advice with that...

    20kw Generator

The 1040 is the current model.
  12. DieselAddict

    20kw Generator

The issue is the modern military units at 15kw and above are 3 phase only. No conversion possible. You have to go back to a MEP004 to get a 15kw unit that can be converted to single phase.

    20kw Generator

Not really a good fit for a retired military generator. One option would be to buy 2 of the MEP1040 10kw generators. They can be run in parallel. A pair of those at auction would run $12-$15K

    20kw Generator

Unless its a 3 phase load, there isn't an option in that power range for a retired military unit in the current gen or one gen back. If you go back a couple of generations you can pick up a MEP004 (15kw) or MEP005 (30kw) that CAN be converted to single phase. The conversion isn't as simple as...

    MEP831A moisture in the controller

Excellent. Glad you are back up and going.

    MEP831A moisture in the controller

Happens to me all the time! :)

    MEP831A moisture in the controller

There is a pin on the servo on the side of the engine. Use that to hold the speed control at max.

    MEP831A moisture in the controller

That’s right. Need to make sure all the coating on the boards is good and seal up any of the unsealed pots. running the engine for 15 or so min tend to get mine back online if I forget to keep it covered.

    MEP831A moisture in the controller

Sure, common problem. What I typically do is start the unit and let the heat from the engine dry it out. Its the inverter that is the problem. By controller are you referring to the inverter? There is a speed controller behind the instrument panel. That is not the source of this particular...

What is wrong me me.. Another MEP803...

Everyone does. Its the single most handy thing I've ever bought.
