    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I made Great progress getting my barn cleaned during the poor weather. Now I must strive to maintain it like this. Lots of items go thru this barn in 30 days. I did find a few tools I was missing and am still missing a few. Most important find today was the turbo nozzle for the pressure washer...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

It’s an old bank barn from early 1900s. Excellent condition. No stairs just hay ladders on each side. I can still climb and do the transition to the second floor. I try to do it only when someone is here so if I fall I don’t lay there. Or better yet I hand the things up to the second floor and...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

The saw is still in the box. It is the nicest saw I ever owned. A double bevel compound sliding miter saw. It reminds me of my Wife every time I look at the box. The mower is out cutting grass and I have a new crankshaft on order for the Honda mower. Slow progress in the work bay. I went into...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I am off to a good start. I reloomed some wires under the hood of my Cruze and had all good intentions of climbing scaffold and painting out 4 gallons of paint by brush on the barn. Mr Rain gave me a break from that. After 3 bee stings yesterday I was undecided if I should climb back up and get...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

I was looking for something to do that was relaxing, clean and easy. So I washed and waxed my daily drivers. I was pleased with the results. I know I should be working on other things but the mood was not there.

Complete refilling of the cooling water, tips, tricks and points to watch out for with the 6.2 Detroit Diesel - M1009 / Chevrolet Blazer K5 6,2 Diesel

And there is always someone there watching your every move? Collect the coolant and recycle then flush the radiator. Live dangerously. Good Luck.

    Blanking plug standard - original - radiator - M1009 / Chevrolet Blazer K5 6,2 Diesel

You want the temperature sensor in the head of the engine. That is where the most important part of engine temperature is monitored. Head gaskets fail, heads warp from engine temperature. Water crossover manifolds don't give actual head water temperature and that is what counts. Good Luck. If...

I know of no unused ports in a stock radiator

    Speedometer Cables Breaking

I think something upstream from the transfer case is binding and locking the cable. Have you ever heard of a speedometer rebuilder? We have 1 locally and I had my old rusty faced speedometer from the mule M1009 rebuilt and it was smooth ever after. It would bounce and squeal before I had it...

    Pinion angle shims

So you tell me if that M1009 has a severe angle on the driveshaft. Angled enough that the ujoint caps touch each other.

    Pinion angle shims

I am so confused at this point. It was against my better judgement that o got involved in this lift kit massacre. I will prevail and follow the high torque drive shaft companies recommendation.

Seems like this is turning into a build thread.

Congratulations on the fine job and cake. At least it was not raining or snowing.

    Pinion angle shims

I measured the axle, and it is currently tilted upward 2 degrees, and I have 8 degrees axle shims coming my way. I want to get past this part. Thank you for all the help.

    Pinion angle shims

I used my iPhone and came up with 23 degrees. It is accurate. I use it to set up scaffold all the time. A trick my Wife showed me. It took me a bit to remember. But it came right back once I found the measurements in my utilities Icon.

    Pinion angle shims

I installed a Rough Country 4" lift kit complete 4 springs, 4 shocks, and the pitman arm. I installed all new extended brake hoses front and rear. I cleaned and painted as I went. Everything was fine till I got to the rear drive shaft. That is the stock M1009 driveshaft with stock rear axle and...

    Pinion angle shims

I know about the rear driveshaft needing to be lengthened. And hindsight I should have never got involved with the lift kit. I am best sticking with stock and basics. Millions of dollars are spent on the stock M1009 design, testing and engineering to toss it aside for what? I want to get the...

    Pinion angle shims

I hate to ask but does anyone know what spring shims are needed on the rear springs of a lifted M1009 that has a 23-degree driveshaft angle on the rear. Also, the front driveshaft is a stock size with a 19-degree angle. I fear if the vehicle were to bounce it would extend the front shaft past...
