This project to add 4 jerry can mounts to my M101A3 took me about 4 times longer than I anticipated, but it is my fault as I'm sure I over-complicated it, and I over-built the mounts. I'll start with the finished pictures and then you can keep reading further down if you want all my boring...
Yes, welcome! We also have a Facebook group too for Utah and immediately neighboring states (see my signature below - I mostly use the group for local buy/sale and events).
Haha, thanks for the tag! I've been working too many projects at once and forgot to get back to this.
I was able to mount the pioneer tool rack to my M101A3 this weekend. For reference, the numbers stamped on the rack:
MS53053-1
19204 ASSY 734692
MFR 62412
I used four 3/8" grade 8 bolts through existing holes in the rack to bolt directly to the top-most outer lip of the trailer's tailgate...
Thank you, Guyfang.
This has been the nicest summer in my memory here, especially this August.
I talked to one of my brothers, and that jerry can placement on top of the fenders is not a great idea, even with reinforcement, due to raising the center of gravity. So I am going to use some angle...
All this recent use of my M101A3 has definitely put more scratches in the bed paint and the formerly new side racks and cargo cover. I wish the wear and tear wasn't the case, but I'm also happy to have such an essential, useful trailer.
I also have been considering some modifications for the...
June 2022:
My brother decided his firewood stack was too big (part of the wood pile was in the way of a new shed he wanted to build) so I helped him for the day dig, and prepare the ground, and made off with a load of split firewood! The cargo cover was essential to not drop any on the highway...
I ordered these, IMO, over-priced casters and bolted them to the bottom of the crate so I could easily roll the crate around my driveway (I spent more on the casters than I did on the crate!):

The selling points for me compared to the ultra-cheap, and very...
I suppose it’d be possible. I don’t think the metal is as thick as a Knaack box (it feels about as thick as the cheap-o versions of a Knaack box at Home Depot). There'd be a lot of work cutting/grinding off the latches and lift rings on that side to install the hinge. You’d also have to have...
Not a pure salvage yard, let alone a military vehicle one, just a commercial recycling center, but Clearfield Recycling, in Clearfield, UT has stacks of these steel crates / shipping & storage containers. They are currently $65 each (+tax for the ruling class). They said in March 2023 they're...
Welcome! I’m not very many miles south of you. Also, I’m sure you know about Boyce Equipment there in Ogden. They probably have any part you need, or there’s a number of places I’d recommend online, such as Big Mike’s Motor Pool, Erik’s Military & Industrial Surplus (they’re in Southern...
As an update to this thread, 2022 State Bill 77 was signed by Gov. Cox on March 22, 2022, and went into effect on May 4th, 2022.

I was not aware what you were talking about (about potential, future "well nut" issues on the fuel tank) so I had to do some looking around). For my own future reference, I found this thread, the links in it, and @Triton's PDF write up the most helpful...
June 20th, 2022:
I noticed the tan generator's fuel return line was very deteriorated, but surprisingly wasn't leaking.
I replaced all the return fuel lines pieces. I had a local place (formerly named "Evco House of Hose" now called "Erik's") match the hose, I think it was 1/8". The supplied...
It's nice to buy something fully serviced, fixed, and with no issues! Astute observers will notice I did keep items from the trailer. >.>
I couldn't leave my new trailers and generators without the handy pile of ground rods, slide hammer and more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's been several months since I...
January 28, 2023:
I made and wired up dual commercial twist lock connectors that will "live" on both generators, both the common "L1430" 30A and "LL550" 50A for versatility. The 50A connector was discussed earlier in this thread...
May 5th, 2022:
I installed the second "WiFi Manager" controller on my green MEP-803A from @kloppk. This time I actually masked and painted the holes, which is what I should have done for the install on the tan generator.
Here is a capture of the controller attached to my network tonight...
Some back log updates:
April 30th, 2022:
I installed a WiFi Manager Remote Start Controller on my tan generator that I purchased from @kloppk (See his listings on SS here or eBay!). Really impressive what he's made and how perfectly well it integrates and will control the generators! I can...
