    HEMTT, well kind of

Boy I've been having trouble replying on here. The other day I spent 20 minutes trying to get my words to appear in the box and then it all disappeared when I i pushed post. In any case, the only part on the truck from a real HEMTt is the Oshkosh badge on the front.

It's a special built (for diesel) C6 with a manual valve body. axles are Superduty. Ps, does anybody else have their computer lock up on this website?

Don't have much for pics inside. The bed is just plain. The rear window is also a hatch so you can go from the cab into it.

    HEMTT, well kind of

I don't know if I'll get kicked off the site for this blasphemy, but I've been working on this for ten years and I just got through painting it. I still have a lot of work on the interior. This is how it will look on the outside. The only change coming is a canvas roof on the back. A couple...

Just came across this. Fun to follow along. Thanks for posting.

Has anyone piped the exhaust on an 802 831 or 803 into a water drum?

I don't think back pressure is an issue with water, but I don't know that it would do much in the way of noise. In a lake or the ocean maybe, but in a 55 gallon drum, I think it would vibrate the whole drum. If the drum had an open top, I think it would splash the water out. If you had a small...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Well, I just painted another test piece. I did the best job in prep. Scotch-brite and wipe down with brake clean. The primed with zinc cromate. This one I painted full strength in the shade. It seems like if the metal is hot, it's not as smooth. It still has some texture. I'm going to let it...

So I see you are in Texas. You probably have the same weather I have. Did you spray in a booth? More importantly, did you spray in shade?

Looks great! Did you spray full strength? What kind of gun? I guess I will wait some on my test pieces before I make up my mind.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Paint woes, I know you guys sware by this paint, but I'm slightly hesitant. I decided to paint some sample pieces to see how it works. This part can't be seen when on the truck, so I'm not worried about how it looks. I sprayed this un thinned on a hot day in full sun. I know flat looks the...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

How long before it won't scratch? I bought the paint about a year ago. It sat in my garage. It never froze, but it gets cooked everytime the sun shines. Do you think the paint is ruined? (It looks fine)

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Ok, I'm getting close to painting my project. I've got the right colors and did some sample spraying with a gun I got at Lowes. My problem is the paint doesn't seem to be very hard. I can scratch it easily with my fingernails. Maybe I'm not waiting long enough. I put the samples out in the...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Right now, I just work on it. Lol. Someday, I want to take trip out west in it.

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

I've just been put on to this thread. Obviously, too late. Soni, if you come back and see this, I loved the project. I hope you are doing well. It's funny you were doing this all the while I was building my project and nobody put me on to you. In any case, while my project is not really worthy...

    Percent current meter

So I got looking at the switch and deciphered the hyrogliphics. Switched it to the right spot and started the genny. It works! I turned on a bunch of stuff and got it to 75%. It doesn't seem to be working hard. Still quiet and just a hint of smoke. The only thing that seemed to start slow is...

    Percent current meter

Of course, I didn't read any instructions. What I did was start the generator and test the L1, L2 and L3 lugs. L1 and L3 had 110 volts to newtral and 240 between them. So that's what I used. I haven't really investigated or moved the rotorie switch. Ps, I'm using it single phase

    Percent current meter

I just got my Mep802a running and hooked up. I turned on a bunch of lights and fans and grinders and such. The percent current meter never moved. Is it always on or do you need to havme it configured a certain way?

    Mep802a coolent

So I rinsed it out about four times with regular water and it finally drained clear. Each time I ran it till the thermostat opened and then a minute or so more. If you want to know when your thermostat opens, I found an easy way to tell. First wait till the gauge gets close to 180. Then put your...

    Mep802a coolent

So they don't sell boxes of cascade anymore. They have these little tide pod things of it. I didn't like putting the little pods in the radiator, but what the h3ll. Ran it for ten minutes and pulled the bottom hose. Lots of chocolate milk. So I did it again with more pods. After ten minutes...

Bringing diesel generators back into service?

Question-(warning, this maybe stupid), to get shocked, you must be touching two things, right? What I mean is, you are either touching something and ground or two pieces of metal. If the generator is not grounded, can you be shocked by touching one piece of metal?
