We still have 3 towbars at 98G's house in northern Kansas that need to hitch a ride to NY or somewhere in between.
So if anyone is coming to KAMO from the east, we would appreciate the help getting them moved closer to NY.
Looking at a MEP-831a generator in Aurora, Ohio. Would need it stored or hopefully sent along the SS express. Willing to pay for fuel and expenses.
End destination would be Wynnewood, OK 73098 or a freight shipping dock at OKC. Or I can possibly meet for handoff somewhere along your route...
It's the wrong color but I know how to fix that.....
Haul it? It will most likely run when it finally leaves my place. Most other junk does, junk being in reference to my collection of green and yellow iron.
98G doesn't have a mkt. He does however build some very nice grills and then cooks on them at my place. I will bring food, if anyone wants to eat with us, 98G and I will probably grill ribeyes.
I always get excited when I go to pick up a M105 and the lights work with no repairs on my part. Bought 3 and had to replace the pigtail on one of them, but have had good luck so far.
Thanks for the kind words.
Current plan is to attend the KAMO rally then go to Caleb's and tow bar the M928 back to my place for storage. 2 birds, one stone.
Radio install
Finally got weeds back from the welding shop. Part of the radio tray is aluminum, and I have no tig. We added a few braces to stiffen the tray up, and it worked out perfectly. Glad to get my truck back. Welder was very interested, and wants a HMMWV.
I owe a big thank you to...
We have one of the plugs, and covers on a M923 parts truck. Standard 12 pin military plug. It is in good condition, and I can clip the wires to where it is usable with any vehicle.
Pm for paypal info, and cost.
Bottom line if 98G welds it, it's not coming apart. I have 2 other guys I know local to me, both are very talented. 98G's work is very good, you won't find a better welder than him.
Choose an older, well kept diesel pickup that you can self diagnose and repair, or choose a brand new one with a warranty. I personally would go with an lmtv, have it checked out by someone familiar with them, then proceed to drive it 2-3K miles to validate it's mechanical condition, before...
There are 2 breakers mounted under the hood, on the firewall, and 2 under the dash near the steering column. 2 are 15 amp, and 2 are 30 amp. The only fuses on the truck are in the abs wiring harness, located under the dash below the start switch.
You need to know this stuff for safety...
If you are referring to a M939 with Allison MT654cr, I have had good luck with Permatex high temperature thread sealant, pn59235. Be sure and clean/degrease everything, make sure the dipstick tube isn't crossthreaded.
