I have in storage 3 medium towbars that need a ride from southern Oklahoma, to New York, for a fellow SS member. If we can get them there via multiple handoffs, that is ok. Just got them, so we have plenty of time to line this up as of right now.
I am about 100 miles from Bells. Going to fuzzytoaster's on 1/6 loaded, will be unloaded on the way back. Jeff is a good guy to deal with.
I offer storage for free. I also have 3 medium towbars that need to find a ride to NY. Maybe we can figure something out.
I find my coolant heater experience to be the same as 155mm stated. I tried an hour on my nhc-250's, they started but didn't like it. So I leave my class 8 trucks plugged in overnight, and it is well worth it. No stress on the starter and the truck warms up quickly.
I have also seen snow...
I find it very interesting that batteries can be repaired. The only time they release explosive fumes is when being discharged, or being recharged. I personally would not repair a battery terminal with a open flame due to the risks involved. If you chose to do so, please wear the appropriate...
This is why I install a caterpillar keyed master disconnect switch in the negative cable of every truck i own. Adds some security, and provides a very fast method of separating the truck from the electrical supply when the pop hits the fan. If the starter solenoid hangs, you will not have time...
2 group 31's work good, but are taller. Be sure to secure your batteries, and insulate the posts to avoid contact with the seat lid. My personal favorite for space and cranking amps is (2) Interstate MTP-65. They give 1000ca each, and are shorter than group 31's. Interstate also has a very...
Weeds is the workhorse of our collection. Weeds has towbarred a couple trucks home for other SS members, and hauled a few loads home from GL. Sometimes Weeds get used as a water truck for our small business, and hauls supplies. Since acquiring Weeds from 98G in early 2015, we have added...
My winch setup still needs a ride from MN to OK. Or somewhere further south than MN.
I have a warn winch, and a couple new M105 beds for sale; if anyone wants items I have for sale, I can offer free transport/delivery as long as it is in route to MN.
Thank you.
Bringing this old thread back up.
I am currently doing a complete radio setup in my M923 5 ton. I have everything I think, except for a mx-7777 and a cover. Would like one of these covers if anyone has some. Does anyone have the nsn # or the dimensions of a the cover. Pictures would be...
I would like to try an oil pan heater on my transmission, since you have to let the truck idle for 20-30 minutes warming the trans oil on a M939 series.
Be sure to have the correct weight of oil in the trans, as cold temperatures affect the oil thickness and trans life expectancy greatly.
I have heard 15k-20k hours on the MEP-802 and MEP-803 when properly maintained. Be sure it has an exhaust flapper when picking one out, and if possible look down the exhaust for rain water/snow.
