    LDS 427 worth rebuilding

The turbos from the LDT 465 engines are too small, but, that would reduce the smoke from the 427. Also reduce the horse power. I run a LDS 427-2 in a deuce dump truck and it is very powerful and dependable. I have another 427 that I bought with a broken crank, known in advance. I bought it for...

    JATONKA's winter project: M35 dump/plow truck

The good part of the electric plow setup was that I bought brand new 24 volt pump motor and control solenoids for it right from Western, and not expensive. doesn't draw many amps at 24 volt, very quick response. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. JT

Moving M-39 Series 5 tons to the Korean/Vietnam War section

I think the differences are much more than you say Ron, but I don't need to make a big deal of it, what ever works for the site is good by me, as always. I just think that different fenders, different hood, different radiator, different brush guard, different power steering, different wiring...

There several different 2 1/2 ton trucks, CCKW, M135/211, and the Reo M35 series. They all have their own sections here. So, why can't M39 series, M809 series and M 939 series all have their own sections staarting now? The 915 and 916 and 920 are not 5 ton trucks, put them ain another section...

Here are some pics of my XM923 A4. Modeled after an FWD HAR 1 there were about 7000 issued during WWII as a 4 Ton truck. 12 foot deuce bed, removed spare tire and davit and crooked muffler. Best driving shorty of the 6 I have done. Expect to drive it to Alaska June 2013 with my M109 body on it.

    Oil Cooler line leak...

I just ordered one of the oil cooler pipes that runs across the radiator, from Chevy . Used the part number from a 1985 GM CUCV manual and it was still a good number. Cost $38 plus sales tax, I was satisfied with that. I replaced the 2 oil cooler flexible lines with Napa parts last year, what a...

    Heads Warped!

You already have the answer, you can get away with .004" with out cutting the valve seats, after that, cut the valve seats to keep the compression where it belongs. The heads warp, that is a given, they have to be checked any time the head gaskets are replaced. Any machine shop that does head...
