It's there to help make sure the winch isn't engaged by accident when not in use, a necessary safety. If it were to be engaged in the cab by accident , improper adjustment, or frame twisting AND engaged up front at the winch then it would be a bad day. My truck shows evidence of this happening...
We could use part of the 2 hours from 10-12 to go convoy around the loop and through downtown or could do it after lunch? There is a gravel area at the back of the parking lot where we can park, if that's not enough I know the owner of the business next door we can use their lot or part of it...
We rotate to a near new condition pair for the front and less than 1000 m later it's showing up again. Wheel bearings have all been checked, tie rod ends are tight and no slop that we can detect in the steering knuckle bushings. I just read about the shocks possibly causing it? These I have not...
I have the cupping issues with the outside edges of my 9.00x20 ndt's on both sides of both trucks, have tried 1/32 toe in and zero toe in. Maybe it's just my eyes but these axles appear to have a bit of positive camber built into them?

Great news! You did it, and got it done safely. Batt hold downs look good, I still have to do that myself as I rigged up something temporary that ended up being permanent.
Elijah95.... The protectors are available on the popular auction site, search the nsn # shown above. They have a sorry rubber coating that rusts underneath before you even get them out of the package. Soak in lacquer thinner to remove then blast and prime/paint. I made a pliable rubber gasket to...
I replaced my rear pinion seal on the rear axle, but noticed the rear one on the mid axle is leaking now. I'm TRYING to fix the leaks faster than they occur!!!! The last machine shop I worked in also had a welding and fab shop that did some repair work, one of the guys had to pull the main hyd...
That's good news! Glad you got some help, if you were a bit closer I wouldn't mind one bit but these days I have a hard time getting away to do much of anything.
Voltage doesn't tell the story, get them load tested to be sure they are up to the task. A "normal" starter and solenoid are easy to diagnose, but most of these (not all I don't think) also have a relay on the side of the block above the starter, I haven't got into mine yet so I can't tell you...
