S-280 hatch & Demo ideas plus need TM

I left mine as purchased other than putting a roof over the one on the ground as water was getting into it via the HVAC portal. This is Florida after all, mostly hot all the time except a few cold days thrown in for good measure. Still looking @ a third unit because I am stubborn.

S-280 hatch & Demo ideas plus need TM

Neither of mine have anything but structural aluminum in the floor.

Need transport for 2009 Schutt M1101 Cargo Trailer

Risks? If you only have a car, it is unlikely that you can tow it home. If you have a 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck with a receiver hitch & a pintel hitch, you can make it happen unless you are not comfortable pulling it. I pulled home 3 M-1102's trailers from Atlanta, Georgia to North Florida with a...

    Hurricane Sally and my MEP-803

Sounds like you are doing well & not really having any problems you haven't prepared for. Keep up the good work & post how your M803 is keeping you in the world of power when others have none.

    M32K-4A Rough Terrain Weapons Trailer

When you learn to back it up, you have accomplished a mean feat. I found it is easier to pull into place & disconnect rather than fight with it.

Gichner S-280 Electronics Shelter From Albany, GA to E. NC

I have two of those already from Florida that I am happy with. The ones from Albany were different & shorter, but the weight on half the units was above my carrying capacity. The ones in my weight range went for high $$$, so maybe another time if the stars align in my favor.

Gichner S-280 Electronics Shelter From Albany, GA to E. NC

My best guess is to get one that has a valid weight plate (not 7 K) & put it on the Deuce & bring it home from the auction. As long as they will load it on the flatbed of the Deuce, she should be able to easily handle 2k lbs on the roads. I did that with my LMTV & it was around 3.5k & made the...

Gichner S-280 Electronics Shelter From Albany, GA to E. NC

I wonder why the great weight discrepancy between units other than some have shelving & some have equipment paneling? My experience is that the weights are an educated guess on one unit & applied to all. Hopefully this does not violate auction rules.

Gichner S-280 Electronics Shelter From Albany, GA to E. NC

Thanks for the heads up on the shipping venture as I am interested in a couple myself.

Broke down in Picayune Mississippi ... Need a lowboy to haul back to Louisiana

Glad you made it home & no puddles of oil are seen under the truck right so that is good. Keep us updated as to you making repairs.

1995 Stewart & Stevenson 1078: New Acquisition Need Input

My truck came from Ft Bragg also as a runner for about the same price, but missing the turrent cover. When you get it home, spend some time on the TM's & get familiar with her inner workings as well as all the running gear. Welcome to the green iron club (yours is green under the tan).

Buying a m105 tomorrow anything I need to know before the purchase

Buy it & you will be glad you did, just don't pay too much for it. I have a few of them & they are great for storing stuff or hauling darn near anything you can get in them. Their ground clearance is a pain unless you have a forklift, tractor or small crane to load them with.

Talk Me Out of My Fascination With Owning an LMTV

My M1081 & M1082 came from Bragg about 3 years ago as a runner, but it was missing the turrent cover, drivers window glass & had serious brake problems that wouldn't let it run over the road. Lots of work & $$$ have made it drivable, but still not road worthy for trips & just driving around...

Talk Me Out of My Fascination With Owning an LMTV

Be advised that the LMTV's that come out of Bragg are rode hard & put up wet. If you shop well & are not in a hurry, you may get a good truck for a fair price. Also, the prices of good shape running trucks are not low anymore, the last MTV I bid on went for $25K, but it was a runner in nice shape.

    Napa 6tl batteries

I ordered a 24v battery from NAPA for a genset (MEP-701A) I have & had the same problem as the battery came with no acid. The NAPA guys were stumped, but since the battery cost $265.00, they gave me the acid for free. They were as shocked about the price as I was for this small battery & the...

    Another CUCV accident

I concur with Saberr about finding a mobile dent remover or a different shop that will fix the dent back as good as new. The shop you have your truck @ now just wants to be rid of you, not to help you get your truck restored to pre accident condition. Good luck with your repairs.

    Storm's a-comin'

I leave the covers on my Deuces, the M-105's, the M1102's & the M-1082 trailer with no problems. I even have a 16' x 16' tent set up that survived thru Hurricane Irma several years ago set up with no damage to any of it. The winds are not my problem here in Florida, but the sun is & the 6 years...

Proper slobber tube /Road Draft Tube routing?

No pictures here, but when I got my first Deuce, there was no slobber tube on it. A 3 foot piece of silicon hose routed it from the connection on the engine to below the riders side foot step to carry the blowby away from the engine & driveline. Not wanting to cut the hose is the reason it...
