There is a member in Ocklawaha, FL that has that exact resin soldier that he displays @ shows. Nice to see, but a pain to move around. I figured there was more than one.
The solar pulse desulfator (not charger) does not charge batteries as some believe, it is designed to remove sulfation on the cell plates & that is all. If you add an additional solar panel & a controller, that will keep the batteries charged; that & scheduled running of the equipment.
The M35 series of trucks do not come with an air dryer from the manufacturer. Some one may have added a unit to your truck, but I doubt it unless it is an A3! The moisture just condenses in the two tanks under the truck & you bleed them daily as with the rest of the PM's.
This afternoon, I need to finish checking fluids & loading the Deuce to go to our winter MVPA meet in Mt Dora. The meet starts tomorrow & runs thru Sunday. Another fun filled weekend. Pictures next week.
Picked up another trailer, this one is a Tobyhanna M-116A3 trailer, if that is actually who makes it. I can't find the actual weight of the trailer without the gensets on it. My best guess is about 700 pounds since it is aluminum. This trailer pulls well behind the Toyota, so it will probably...
If after performing the charge/rejuvenation cycle, attach a battery tester to the battery & put a load of it to see if you have a surface charge only or you have successfully brought the battery back to a serviceable level. I tried the same process on a red top battery & a 6TL, each coming from...
When I bought the second Deuce from GP, she had two 6TL's in her, but one was not recoverable no matter what I did. The other 6TL battery is in reserve with the affected truck having a new pair of batteries from Interstate that keep her cranking right. I hated recycling the original 6TL, but had...
My repairs were not that mechanically involved today after work, but my speakerman backup lights didn't work the last trip to work for some reason. After chasing down the problem with a VOM, I discovered the major problem in most military vehicles had settled in my lighting...a bad ground (go...
I find that paint will fade off metal over time & look like it has become transparent. Hopefully it might work better on the vinyl, but I doubt it from my experience.
I had to move a Deuce that I bought from GP as a non runner. Since I have a running Deuce & an 80K towbar system, I flat towed the dead Deuce 15 miles home on the country backroads here. I knew the dead Deuce was back there, but it towed beautifully with no problems on the way home.
Flame suit on.
Did you make sure all the linkage inside the HH mated up correctly when reassembling? If something got out of alignment during assembly, you will lose control of the throttle. At least it didn't go to wide open when you cranked it up.
Your battery is still usable, wire brush it off & put a new connector on it & keep working on the truck. I did that to my 85 Deuce with brand new batteries when the connector got loose for some odd reason, it left a small pool of lead on the battery top. Replaced the connector & back to work she...
Welcome aboard & enjoy the fun. The electrical , mechanical & hydraulic gremlins will keep you amused for days or more @ a time. Keep us posted with your progress & pictures, we all love pictures.
Excellent, Glad you found a way around the blown tire issue. The only spare I have is on the truck.
Anyway, Woodbine is in Georgia, an hour North of Jacksonville. Your tire supplier was perfect for you in location & ability to get you back on the road with a spare +.
