Ctis
Yes, I will keep the CTIS and by pass the factory system. The drama is generally not at the hub. Two manual controls on the dash. One for the front axle and one for the rear.

The work begins...
Received the truck and checked out all of the systems (hyd winch, CTIS, fluid levels, etc) this weekend. Pulled the bed this afternoon. Rady for the conversion to begin.
Pics will be uploaded tonight.

Thanks guys. I was the one that bought the Air Force truck at Ft Sam. A parts truck is fine. Mostly after the dual brake system. This may be a good donor for a 6x6 pintle pulled trailer with drive axles for the HIAB...

Thanks for the heads up on the tan M105 w/ CBC. I will arrange to have it hauled.
Also picked up an Air Force M35A2 for $661.

Do you have one? I would love to get my hands on one (even if it is a loaner) to better research this.
For starters I can use a measurement between the verticle pannels of the wheels wells. They are wider between the wheel wells than the A2s but I don't know how much. I need to...

thanks for the info. I am going to try one on one of my bobbers. I don't know if the shallow wells will cause drama with the rear tires or not.

I have been doing a lot of research on computer operated Allisons behind mechanical motors. I was surprised to find that there were factory mechanical engine/computer tranny combinations offered. All the electronic Allisons need to operate properly is a TPS (throttle position sensor)...
Has anyone used an M105A3 trailer bed for a bobbed conversion yet? I love how the rear lights are mounted. Don't know if the shallow fender wells will pose a problem or not...

OK, I am suffering from an accute case of D*%B A$$. The air line going into the top of the cap is a VENT line and not an AIR line...
Clear now...

Been kicking this around too...
I have been thinking about this too... just can not get my head wrapped around this.
Stock assy:
There is an air line that goes in the top of the MS cap. There is a fill plug on the side of the MS that is ~1/4" from the top of the MS.

dt-466 and MT654CR
Hey Pal,
I will throw my hat in the ring. I have acquired an international DT-466. It is basically a 5.9 12v Cummins with an extra 100ci. I am looking for an Allison MT654CR. It is a 5 spd but it will not go into 1st gear unless you pull the t-handle into 1st. It is a...
Thanks guys..
Thanks for all the posts. I truly enjoy stirring-the-pot AND sharing knowledge. Bjorn has fed me pizza in his home but draws the line at bobbing. Proof that "Purists" and "Butchers" can cohabitate. However, I DID have my wife taste the first bite... one can never be too careful...
