That is good advice, but it should also be directed to the big retailers - I mean their responsible buyers (most of them not having a technical background... !)
Keep in mind that the Chinese make excellent quality products, too. But usually it is just their lower-priced options (call it chicom...

Doesn't matter if M35 or M812; those transmission PTO's are basically the same for both series of trucks.
Only the 20-bolt MRAP steel wheels (with a 1/2" adapter plate) will pretty much line up, mounted that way.
This one:
But with the 12-bolt version - which have a backspace of about 11" - the difference is 3". Meaning, the track width at the rears would be 6" more than front.
The Deuce front axle measures 79" between wheel mounting flanges/hubs, while the rears (for duals) are 10" narrower.
Your "distance" depends on what wheels you mounted your 395s on. Like 10" wheels with a backspace of about 8", mounted (dished out) on non-flipped rear hubs, will give you...
Yes, I saw that one. But I was hoping to find the info without having to pay for it...
Thank you, that one sure helped! From the description and many pictures it seems that what I just built is exactly what it had from factory. (talk about reinventing the wheel...!)
Exactly... and yes, it's...
Both those flywheels are identical in diameter, as well as shape and number of teeth (139), so both work the same for a stock starter.
The difference is the diameter of the recess in the center: the 6.5 FW measures ~8.5", vs. ~6.5" on the 6.2 FW . Reason for it is, the 6.5 clutch disc takes a...
Resurrecting this very old one....
I'm currently working on this old-but-good M172 (attached dataplate, below): hubs are getting new bearings and more modern seals.
Also machined the non-original, wrong (course ! ) thread studs to work with regular L-R 1⅛-16 thimbles & nuts, to then accept...
Mogman is right: stock wheels are 8.25" wide and have a +54 offset.
With the wheels you just ordered the distance between outer (tire) sidewalls will be almost 6 inches more than stock.
True, but it's relatively easy to tell them apart since there is a significant difference in size, besides the "70" cast in the housing
(And contrary to what many say, their covers are not interchangeable - even if the bolt pattern is the same for both)
