I had a few folks pm about the lights, the headlights may not be what y'all want just let me know. There are some that are high/low beams (3wires), but they are all 12v. Then there are two types of lenses on the 24v all of which have only two wires, some have a clear lens (spot I am assuming)...
I saw some of the goodyears that they took rims out of and all of them had run flat inserts, I cannot speak for the Michelins. The steel and aluminum rims that I saw all have the same hole pattern, the steel is approx. 1/4"-3/8" thick at the hole circle and the aluminum is approx. 1" thick. It...
Great, I would have taken aluminum but by the time you add a half inch plate in there the studs that hold the wheel together would be too short. All the ones I marked and stacked also had more than 3/4" tread depth and I believe brand new had only 13/16".
Just finished picking out 15 excellent condition for myself and another member, they were backed up due to a machine breakdown but chad and mike (the owner) were very helpful. They are going to palletize and band for me so I can pick them up. Mike also told me that he has approx 500 more offsite...
No problem glad I could help, I actually thought about buying them all but I couldn't strike a deal for a better price if I took them all. I am going to get one set for a forum member, and help with getting them to him so let me see how it goes and I may be able to do so for others too. I have...
You didn't get them all did you?! Glad to hear you got some, I have to go monday and get 8 for a forum member and 7 for myself, I should have had them already but life and work keep getting in the way
That's exactly right, any job worth doing is worth doing right, this is the same way I approach any used vehicle no matter what it is, start from the ground up and make sure the mechanicals are good first. Is the locknut actually tack welded? When there was a locking ring there that they didn't use?
I have access to CAT c7's and Allison transmissions that came out of running trucks, some are still in the front half of the frame with radiator, intercooler, and everything else. I heard a number from the mechanic but am not sure of it, I don't know what it would take to install it in your...
I don't know how willing they will be to pull and ship parts but I can help, I had too much to do today so my brother in law went up there and spoke to the boss about the tires, $150 on steel and $175 on aluminum, you pick for condition.
They are at premier metal buyers in Brenham Texas...
It's been a few years since my time in the alternator shop but I think we did some of the old style Chevy one wires in 24v, I will have to ask. Did it end up being a 21 or 27 si alternator? That part of the thread was confusing.
We will see if there are any different ones on Monday, either way they will work, have complete machine and fab shop at our disposal including cnc. I am the machinist and the brother in law is the welder.
