That is just a disaster, looks like your home had a bit of customization also. Sell it on GP with a sticker that states, ran when parked. JK! Sorry for your loss, hope you & your family are safe & sound.
Time to pull my HH off again Saturday & see if my button fell off during last assembly. As far as preventing a runaway, the 1" port on the back side of the air filter box will have a 1" heavy rubber hose that leads all the way over to the air compressor to its intake port. I did this to my first...
No, I pulled a muscle or something in my back & it was too painful to even move for a while, so no working on the truck last weekend. This weekend is Gator Nationals Weekend, so to miss all the crowds, I will be slumped over the fender again taking out the hydraulic head & lines. Listening to...
Well, that is one thing I have to be thankful of since my deuce's engine won't start, it didn't run away. James did stand in front of the intake with a flat piece of metal in case it did take off. Sorry to hear about your engine destroying itself, if it were mine I would drop in a rebuilt or...
I bleed the fuel filters after changing them, but nothing else needs it. That said, I came home to a pair of fully charged batteries & turned the power on the Deuce. Fuel is flowing back into the tank, so that pump is working fine as I thought. 10 minutes of the pump running & I decided to spin...
Today was reinstall day with Floridianson for the hydraulic head & associated parts on the '85 Deuce. We got everything back together with no problems in a couple of hours & went to crank the old girl. She would spin over well, but would not fire, even with ether..
The filters were changed &...
Well, after a long time procrastinating on getting started with the HH on the 85 Deuce, the head is off to find a broken spring & retainer. New parts are here thanks to Gimpy & Floridianson & tomorrow, they will be installed to see if we can bring back one more Deuce to life.
Or those of us who run our generators when the wind is blowing 75+ mph & the power has been out for @ least a day or so. Hurricane season is as much fun for a Floridian as the snow storms for folks living in the snowbelt.
I was complaining about so few offerings lately here in Florida @ GP, now I am glad they have. With this new, unannounced 2.95% upcharge on the credit cards, I will think twice about bidding on something I really don't need. The only saving grace is that all my major purchases are completed &...
Maybe GP is outdoing GL with 12.95% up charge vs 12% that GL used to charge. Nope, they are making up for the amount the credit company charges to use them.
Depending on the price, I would be interested in the '87 truck if you weren't all the way across the country. The engine looks really clean as does the rest of the pictures of the truck. To be truthful, 2 deuces are enough @ this point in my life.
Buying the older truck is a smart idea for what...
Dragging up a zombie thread here. Has anyone here that went to the Mt Dora MVPA meet this weekend of 21 thru 24 2019 posted pictures of the meet this past weekend? I was not able to go due to work & wondered how it all turned out.
I agree with Wheelspinner as I have an '87 & a '85 Deuce. If you are going to drive the '87 home, go for it after a good check thru first. I did it the first day I got in the '87 Deuce with a 430 mile trip back to Florida. The cockeyed headlights were my only real problem driving @ night. I...
Well, you are home & the truck is there with you. No damage & no bad reports, murphy must have been on vacation or busy somewhere else. That is a big load for the tow truck to move & stop; now you can get to work on her for what ever you have in store. Good luck & keep the pictures coming as you...
