I was thinking to put Detroit Lockers in all three of my axles. Next to getting my winch operational, lockers are next on my list. USMC has used Detroit Lockers in the two tandem rears, but has anyone here has lockers in all three axles on a M809 series? Just looking ahead to...
Trying to get myself set up with tools for my M813 maintenance list. Thanks for any help or pointers.
Did the 38mm socket fit the 1 1/2 (38.1mm) wheel nuts?
I am guessing you purchased this part...
Mounted a 10' gas pipe with stainless 1" ubolts to the front right bumper for the USA flag to mount for the upcoming July 4th parade. Tested the height... 11'6" to ensure safe visibility with my 3'x5' Stars and Stripes. Looks about right.
I am curious to know which type of paint sprayer you used. Air? Airless? Electric? I do not own a sprayer but am considering buying one I can paint the truck with but also the house project items. I am also considering painting the undercarriage black Rapco 911. Not sure how to prep all the...
Good to know! I hadn't anticipated that issue. I hope someone out there has a set they can part with without gouging me toooo bad. Thanks for helping me not buy something I didn't need.
To be specific...all the winches are interchangeable..i.e. the mounting bolt holes are the same but the frames...
OK, I am going to think this through. I will try to find a M939 here locally and check out the brackets on the winch to see if I can adapt them to my frame , unless you know they are a bolt in.
Was this on an M809 series? Using the stock steering pump? The electric valves... I would rather not but I could install some air actuated valves to take their place. Maybe something like this:
The browning chain, can you tell me more? You were able to find a sprocket that fit the input...
I now have the rig, without a winch. However, I splurged and purchased a rebuilt Garwood with the level-wind in OHIO and I also purchased from them just in case a new PTO box. If I was to try to do the stock setup I would need the linkage, drive shaft and frame rail extensions. If I go this...
The HEMTT wheels give the front axle about a 1ish to 2" wider track as far as I can tell. If it was much different I would start thinking of some kind of mod as track width match is helpful in mud and snow.
I am just crossing my fingers the excellent owners in the past put beadlocks inside of...
Can anyone identify this wheel for me? The pics of the model numbers are from the rear wheel and I need to know if it is the same as the front wheel that is pictured. I will need to buy two of these wheels at some point.
Yes the truck is in good shape. Still have to test the 4wd to ensure the sprag and clutch are working. I was so tempted to do this out on the muddy farms I was seeing out on the midwest..lol! But getting stuck on some farmers land or leaving ruts on a well plowed field is un-American and I have...
Had been looking for some time for an M813 with winch. Not much luck and was always behind another buyer it seemed. Finally found one in decent shape and an excellent price but on the other side of the US from me. The rig was located near Detroit. I know that is a long ways away but I bought...
Looking into options on adapting an M939 series winch onto an M809 series 5 ton. Reservoir, PTO, Pump, Hydraulic lines,Drive and Winch. First off the M809 winch from what I am reading is the same as the M939 series... Correct? if so I need to adapt the Spicer driven PTO to drive the hydraulic...
With the three filters in series does that cause any issues with the lift pump wearing out faster from the extra "work"?
To monitor the status of the filters is there a vacuum gauge that is placed in a "T" with the suction tube into the tank so you can see the suction dropping off? Is there a...
FLEETGUARD FS1000 is a 10 micron fuel water seperator.
Fleetguard FS105 is a 20micron fuel filter
Fleetguard FS1001 is a 140 micron fuel filter
Do you suggest running two of the same filters in parallel? Such as dual FS1000 filters?
When placing this inline what should the original fuel lines...
Wes, did you ever set up the 4 link? The first time I looked at the torque rods on these rigs I was like "Where is the other top link?".
On the torque rod aside from age related hardening of the flexible rubber, are the reasons for failure the flex from articulation? Meaning the more off road...
