I forgot I had my springer seat base in my garage since I'm slowly working on some stuff for it over the winter. Anyway, I took some pictures of the dimensions that you would need to know for the air bag. Looks like you want one that can extend at least 11" and it needs to mount somehow to a...
I think it would work. It would just get mounted upside down compared to the other one... meaning the air fitting will need to be on top regardless of which bag you use. This one may work even better since you might be able to slip the "2.11" diameter end right into the hole on the bottom of the...
Good question, I'm not sure why they are hard to find all of a sudden. Below is a pic of the dimensions for this airbag from the firestone site. I'm sure this is just one of many airsprings/airbags that will work. I hooked up a gauge to see what pressure I was using to be comfortable and it was...
Not that I've been able to notice. I agree with mike about the loss of traction also. I often tear up wet grass on level ground if I don't have the rear hub locked. I do like that having it would let you run a different size spare tire on one of the rear axles if needed. My truck has 395s and I...
It's nice having and tight turning is easier. It's a lot of money for what it is though. I split a set of hubs with a member and got a deal on an axle so it was more like $400 total but that's still a lot of money... I guess that's the decision then if the cost is worth the benefit for you.
i run the ouverson axle with a selectro hub and have had no issues. I do feel like I read a thread last year of someone who did this but they had an issue with the shaft sliding back and fourth and causing the hub to lock or unlock or something undesirable.... It might have been a avm hub, not...
Here are some pictures of the structure of the roof from when I overhauled my 109 box. I walk on the roof occasionally but try to walk on the sections where the bracing is underneath. Also the center line of the roof looks like it has a brace but its actually a wire duct that is not in contact...
I looked at these also. All of the double mount ones I saw were what I'll call parallel type units rather than series. So the inlet fitting went to both filter areas rather than from 1 to the next like a primary and secondary setup like we would need. I'm sure the "series" type must be out...
I haven't done much recently but did manage to finish reupholstering 1 seat which took me probably 12 hours spread out over the last 2 months since I'm learning as I go (the next 2 should go lots quicker). Below are some pics showing before/after. Thanks to member RED who just installed some of...
Right, the 939 uses the adapter with part # 749623-1, which is not the same as the correct adapter that will work on the deuce w/395's.... that part number is 749623 (doesn't have the "-1" at the end). The part number is nearly identical but it is completely the wrong part.... I learned that...
I think you can get some used ones from boyce equipment. I had found mine on eBay a few months back but it was the only one listed unfortunately. I have to think that you could contact one of the manufacturers of these and have them make one. It's the same housing just with different...
I attached some TMs for the AOM system. I remember a member named Turbotim (I think) rebuilt his before. I think the problem is just getting the socket head cap screws out that are installed with permanent Loctite. A torch would probably loosen them (and wreck everything inside) or you can take...
I think most of the sheet metal on the trucks is 18gauge so I'd think depending on how you design your hardtop 16g would be great.
I re-lined my 109 box interior with 18g galvanized and had to read up on how to paint it. There are different ($$) etching paints made just for it, or you can just...
Wheels look good Red! Take lots of pics on your Seat install please:) Once I'm done re-covering my seats (same ones you and Vped have), I'll be installing them and looking for any solutions/advice/hints you may have.
