None of the pintles that i have seen here in Iraq have greas fittings for the pintles. Had to disassble a few to lube the locking jaw. Between the sand and the rust, it wasn't pretty coming apart.
The old cotton duck canvas had a cord stitched into the front end of the top. I know this repair was covered in the General Fabric Repair manual, FM 10-16 . I want to say the cord was 1/8 inch thick. Could go this route to repair a top with a missing/ broken plastic piece.

I had the same problem with my deuce not shifting. I took off the top cover and found the gear the gear was seazed.. used liberal penetrator spray and a mallet to free the gear. Oil might be contaminated too.
I installed one once. If the winshield sprayer is has a conical top, it has to be moved farther from the windshield than proscribes int he instructions. Seems the original sprayer(pictured in the instructions) had adjustable nozzles. An electric pump could be worked into the system.

The Serial Number, if it's was a gasser, should be around the front shock mount on the driver's side. If the paint is thick, you may not be able to see it. My SN is stamped in 1 inch letters and begins with a "M".

Have you tried xrefrencing the casting number in brake catalog? I have done it to find brake parts when the application wasn't in the parts computer.
