Barrman,
That's how my brackets look, except I don't have the bracket for the B/O stop light. I have a round light on the left and a composite light on the right. Forgot how the composite light is wired tho. Nice looking truck.

As i move forward with work on my deuce, I need to know how the taillights were configured on early deuces. I know the left (driver side) light was a stop light/ blackout marker light. Was the right light a black out stop/ marker light combo as used on armour vehicles or was it like the left...
Over here in Iraq, I came across what was left of a Jeep Wragler in bone yard.(this bone yard has a lot of interesting things) It looks like a CJ8 with a wrangler front clip. I don't know the exact year since the VIN is missing(late 80's). Here are the particulars that I'm wondering about. It...
sounds like bad batteries. I had the same problem with my truck. Both batteries showed proper voltage, but they both had a dead cell. Take the batteries to get load tested.
I feel your pain on this issue. When it seems like the whole issue about trans gear oil is said and done, something stirs up the hornets nest. LOL I still have yet to change the oil in my transmission, it's low on the list of thing to do. I have to get it running again.
:lost::lost::lost...
I know some modern oils are not yellow metal safe i.e. brass parts. From what I remember from reading through all those posts posted all through the forum, the oil must at least be safe for brass parts or the transmission syncros will have a very short life.
I found TM 9-2320-209-35 C6 on google books. It is the complete manual with all changes up to C6. I ahven't tried to downlaod it since my internet connection is slow at best.

It's parked behind a building in such a way that it can't be seen from the street. I just happened to see it because I was on a scrounging mission. I would love to be able to ship it back stateside, still looking thru the customs process to see what if anything is needed to claim it and ship it...
Not that I want to go there, but since the old barracks got closed and the new barracks opened, i hear it's not a bad place to live LOL
Not the guy that eats possum, makes jackets from possum hides, and thinks everyone has a purty mouth. Don't want to meet him LOL
I was driving around the FOB today and saw something green sticking out from behind a vacated building. I thought maybe someone had abondoned a Gator back there. Turned around to check it out. The thing turns out to be a M8 Armored Car. It looks a little rough, full of sand (go figure), but...
