    It's alive!!!

Welcome to the world of HMMWV ownership! Someone posted a pic of the inside of a fuel tank awhile back I can't seem to find, it was educational to say the least. Not to add to your workflow I would advise pulling the fuel sender and putting an eyeball in the hole. The fuel systems ability to...

Depending on who had it last, many are drained of fluids when"retired".

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Did some digging.............. and in the Van world, as in auto, it's called L Track or Versa Tie and the like the stuff!! If you want to take a minute and look back at the 1165's that sold out of GA. on 4/24 and look closely at the cargo floor and the doghouse between the seats. I hate to...

    It's alive!!!

The fording system includes the hydroboost and the power steering reservoir into the "old" vented system. The hubs, diffs, transmission and transfer case and fuel pump and probably something I've forgot. There are 3 lines that go to the fording valve that was removed from the "dash". If you...

    It's alive!!!

They take 12,2 and 18 and the associated bits. Mogman is correct, if you don't intend to get in very deep water they are not needed. But you do need the regular CDR. Post one today told me all I needed to know. It show you fingernail, looks like mine !

M1097R1 -- some leak, what to check?

EVERYTHING................. The stain in the picture is DOT 5 brake fluid....... silicone stuff, unique to the trucks. Don't mix it with anything else. If you figure out how to remove the stain let me know, have one just like it for years. Check every thing with a plug or dipstick , and chain...

See Grind Hard Plumbing on youtube....................... By the way, don't be surprised when the delivery truck shows up and the name on the truck doesn't match the company you paid to transport it.

I do believe that's the heater tube between the passenger and driver side, goes just inside the doghouse at the top, tube on each side.

    New HMMWV owner here

You are now a "wheeled mechanic" or at least you are going to be soon. You own tools, right? P S No matter what you say about a trucking company are you going to hurt their reputation, they don't care. I was in the business for 37 years.

    New HMMWV owner here

You didn't state if it was a Hotshot company or regular freight hauler. A 50/50 negotiation would probably have worked. Outbound freight from your part of the world is sketchy. Be sure and post how it works out. And congratulations, you have been promoted to MOTORPOOL!

    I am baffled!

PLEASE..... when you get this figured out, let us know. You have one of the stranger issues I've seen here. I might add, I "think" the 12k axles also have a different washer with the outside bolt.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

FYI ,yall..... been lurking here for years, did not realize you could pay with PAYPAL until a while back. I have an aversion to paying with my CC over the net as I think many would. It needs to be pointed out that PAYPAL is accepted.
