    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

This is interesting. First off, I watched a video of a guy who owns a motor home with a cat engine. 3116 or 3126. He had low oil pressure at 90k miles and put in a new oil pump and bearings. That fixed everything. My truck idles cold at 40 psi. Cruising cold at 60 psi. Warm idle at 17 psi. All...

    Leaf Spring questions

Beautiful truck! But, as I look at your side profile picture, it appears as if your box may be bowing. Of course, it could be an illusion, but have you checked it for straightness? also, since I have an MTV as well, did you extend the frame rails?? I want to put a 20' travel trailer on the back...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

i'm trying to wrap my head around what you are saying. Lets say my engine puts our 1000 FT LBS TQ. If you do a 2 to 1 reduction is it now 2000 FT LBS TQ at the wheel? if you go to a direct drive at 1 to 1 are we back to 1000? is there a way the TQ can be amplified through gearing to exceed the...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

Well the airbags worked just fine. I cant compare them to anything as mine were blown from day 1. I do have a question though. On an MTV, there are 2 air solenoids under the passenger dash. One for the fan and one to lock the center diff? If the center diff isn't locked, is the rear axle just...

What to look out for when buying an LMTV

Your depressed?! I just spent 3 hours rebuilding my treadle valve. 30 minutes to rebuild it and the rest was just to R&R the assembly! And, the worst part was asking the wife to hold a wrench while I zipped the nuts.... You would have thought the world was ending... 😧

What to look out for when buying an LMTV

Well, I purchased mine (MTV 6x6 A0) a few months back. It was titled and I was able to test drive it, feel the trans shift, climb all over it, hit the brakes and on and on. My truck was in great shape. Only the CTIS, air/hydro pump and cab suspension bags were not working. Pump and CTIS were...

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

It was a good day today. I removed the 150 PSI pressure sensor and re-installed the original 100 PSI unit. I then installed an aftermarket CTIS control box. Pretty cool. It can be programmed to the tire pressures you want. Will be testing it out over the next few weeks....
