It was a good day yesterday, or at least I think it was. I went to a military show/swap meet and found some stuff! Like 24v relays from a name brand for $3 each. Also got an air hose with a Wilton? air chuck that plugs into a gladhand for $60. But the big one I scored (at least I think it's a...
Both of mine needed minor straightening, remove cardboard (center) and balance with my supplied u-joints was 275 each. My guy indicated he needed the new U-joints in order to balance them. They were $100 each from him. 4 Meritor joints, NOS with no hardware, for $100 on the big E...
Today was a win! I re-installed the front driveline and went for a test run. The difference that made has me in disbelief. I have no cab airbags (blown) and the few times I have driven it has set a baseline for road feel. Riding on the frame, one can feel a little more vibration and such. With...
I thought mine was bad as well. I had to turn up my air compressor governor to 125 PSI and the entire CTIS system started working. I put a gauge on the wet tank and was initially getting 110psi. The switch activates at 117psi I believe. If you never air up to 117, the system never activates...
In response to your CTIS issue, mine didn't work either and I suspected the pressure switch was bad as well. I plumbed a pressure gauge into the wet tank and discovered I was only building 110psi even though my dash gauge was pegged out. Ronmar educated me on adjusting the compressor governor...
Anyone make a vacuum formed piece of plastic that presses onto the transmission shift panel to keep the sun/UV light/dust off of it? I didn't find anything after searching..
I've been helping a friend get his hydraulics working and have the exact same issue. We installed a new hyd. pump and got the cab and kneeling cylinders working perfectly, then extended the tire ram and its stuck extended. Can't retract it. I removed his raise/lower valve (his A1 valve is...
Back at it. Removed the front driveline and got it ready to take to the shop. I then changed the trans filters. That had to have been one of the easier jobs! They were clean as a whistle! Tomorrow I will change out the draglink and tie rod end boots. Not much else to do until I get the driveline...
I did read them. And, not being a lawyer, I don't "think" it was an issue posting it, but not 100% sure, so I got rid of it. Not a big deal. Such a score if they could be had at a reasonable price!!
I had the same issue. Then I read this: FMTV LMTV Common Issues & Fixes - Google Docs Go to the section on air/hydraulic repair and pay close attention to the check ball part. That was my issue. My check ball changed position. Good luck!
