Operation Urgent Restoration II The M715

Over the past two days I managed to replace the LH wheel well which finished up the repair work on the bed. Moved on to the repair panel for the rear LH portion of the cab, alot of time spent fitting this. I still need to drill a 2 1/2" hole for the battery cables and replace the cab mount...

Operation Urgent Restoration II The M715

Paint arrived today from G503.com, this is the best spray can's I have ever used hands down, no clogging and a great spray pattern. Put a second coat on the hanging parts, then on to bed repair. I finished welding in the panel in the center of the bed, then started on the fender wells. The FD...

    I'm BACK!

Glad to see another goat owner on the forum. eBay, popacom, and Red River seem to have the majority of the parts now. I got my insurance through Hagerty collector car insurance, very inexpensive. There is a thread here on changing out a transfer. A engine or overhead hoist will make the job...

Thanks, not quite that fast but it will be there next year. I figure it should be done by October.

Operation Urgent Restoration II The M715

Going to keep the 230, it's going to be all stock, it doesn't go very far any way. Cleaned, blasted and primed the fuel tank today. Also painted a few more hanging parts, ran out of paint waiting for more to arrive.

Operation Urgent Restoration II The M715

Not as much picture taking and reporting as the Gama Goat, will try and get more posted. I sold my M1010 which I was not using much any more and used some of the funds for the 715 project. I badly needed a new air compressor so that was first on the list. Being off the grid and needing a lot...

Operation Urgent Restoration II The M715

Now that the Gama Goat is "finished" it's time to start on another project, the M715. My first purchase was a M715 mud truck project fail, I purchased the body only, the PO sold the chassis off to a friend. The bed was rotten but it had the all important tailgate which was worth more than I...

That grease fitting goes direct to the wheel bearing, if you over grease you will end up with grease on the brake shoes.

    M37 temperature indication problem

Sounds like it could be a faulty sending unit, you can test it with a multi meter set to ohms. Should be about 3000 ohms cold, 1200 ohms @ 160 degrees, 917 ohms @ 180 degrees and 450 ohms @ 240 degrees. Disconnect the wire from the sending unit, attach one lead to the pin on the sending unit and...

Good progress, overall very clean looking M151, they are easy to work on and parts are readily available.

My 1942 Willys MB Hanger Queen

Looking much better, a lot of work to make it correct but will be worth the effort in the end. The rear cross member/frame has been modified, this may be a good time to address it before you start painting. I had to repair the front and rear on my MB as well. There is a special bolt available...

Whos installed HAM Radio's in CUCV's

The problem with most all military VHF/UHF antennas is they have 0 or negative gain, for VHF/UHF you should mount a good gain antenna, you can paint it to color match your truck for that military look. I have a Larsen NMO-150 mounted on the center of the metal roof on my M1009, it's factory...
