    Primary Fuel Filter Fitting Help/Identification

I think TRIDER is going with the Wix 33405 / Napa 3405 unit which is a 12 micron filter with water seperator & Drain. Its the filter most of us use that buy or build our own primary spin on kits. Here are some part numbers: Primary Fuel Filter Base: Wix 24770 / Napa 4770 Primary Fuel Filter...

    Primary Fuel Filter Fitting Help/Identification

I think you do need a 1/2" inverted flare to 3/8npt elbow to replace the stock one if I remember right. These you can get from napa or oreilly but you may need to order them. Your new base is 1/2 NPT so you could also go that route but they are harder to find and cost more. Here are some Eaton...

    M35A2C master cylinder failure?

Just for future reference for people with the dual circuit brakes on their 87-89 M35a2/M109a3 trucks and M35a3/M109a4 trucks, the Master cylinders are NOT the same. Besides the obvious difference of the A3 trucks having a remote mounted reservoir, they have some other differences. 87-89 A2...

Anyone have any info on this Wheel?

If it does what I was told, I was wondering if you unbolted the outer 12 studs and then rotated the front plate 1/12 turn, reassembled and had a new pattern underneath or something? ..... or it could just be a standard wheel that weighs a few lbs less and looks cool.

Anyone have any info on this Wheel?

Here is a wheel I had never seen until a couple days ago, anyone know what vehicles it would come on or have any more info on it? What I'm told by the seller is that its made by Accuride, its aluminum, and the new style of wheel that fits both 10 lug patterns which I assume is the standard 5...

    M101a2 trailer tires and wheels.

If you decide on the custom adapter route for this you might want to give Kyle at blackrockfab.com a call (member blackrock). He would be able to do 2 custom adapters cheaper and faster than i would since he has his own plasma table in house. I'd need to make 10 or more before I would start...

    Air-O-Matic adjustment

I think they can steer the stock ndt tires sitting still if I remember right (again not that you should) but turning your 395s would be a different story. While parked you should be able to turn the wheel one direction with one hand for a second or 2 (not too hard) then let go of it and here the...

    Air-O-Matic adjustment

No I don't think so.... I guess I've never tried too hard since it doesn't seem like it would be a good idea... I'd feel bad for the steering gearbox

    Air-O-Matic adjustment

You can try it out by just bypassing the safety valve or hooking the drag link valve right up to your shop air compressor to determine if its a valve or supply issue. Also the nos air o matic is probably a good 10-20 years old so it's possible the drag link is a little sticky. I had an issue...

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I'm not sure if there are many people still interested in adding dual circuit brakes to their trucks but I'll throw this out there also. Besides having a couple exact replacement M/C for the 87-89 trucks shown in the post above, I also have some units that are an identical match that also...

Whats your thoughts on spin on primary and secondary fuel filters?

HERE is a link to my build where it shows what you need to make your own primary spin on filter for about $30. (just need to buy a base and a filter)

    long VS short airpack pics

Just pointing something out that I recently learned from a rebuilder of air packs and it makes sense to me... I'll leave it at that. However back to my actual air pack question (and Clinto's) in post 32, Does anyone know if either airpack has the residual pressure valves?

    long VS short airpack pics

It may not be a problem, I'm just putting it out there that its something to be aware of. Both single and dual circuit trucks have the same 6 wheel cylinders that require the same volume of fluid (Dot 5) to operate. If the hydraulic side of the airpacks are the same size, then more pneumatic...

    long VS short airpack pics

Maybe a better way to say it is that your safety factor is much lower with the short style air pack on a single circuit truck. If shoes are adjusted tight then its probably okay, if they are fairly loose or you have a leak somewhere then you may run out of "stroke" on the short air pack where as...

    long VS short airpack pics

Does anyone know if either airpack has the residual pressure valves? I'm pretty sure the short ones must because the Master Cylinder in an A3 doesnt have them, but I am curious on the long airpacks. Also I posted this elsewhere but I think its important..... I'd personally wouldnt use the...

    M35A2 Brake Problems. New owner

The "short" style air packs should only be used on the dual circuit brake trucks. They are short because they dont need as much travel to activate half the brakes. The "Long" style air pack can be used on both the single and dual circuit trucks because it has enough travel to move enough fluid...

LED backup light and LED Rear Fog Light.

Welldigger, when you say the lights died due to bad grounds...does that mean permanently? Or did they just quit working until you ran a good ground wire? also HERE is a reverse / backup light switch kit you can purchase or copy so the lights come on automatically when shifted into reverse (on...

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I have some new split circuit master cylinders w/reservoir for the late 80's air force trucks (not the a3 style). Pm me if you need one.

    bobbing mah deuce

Wow, that is big news. I started reading your build thread before I even bought my 109 and converted it. I know both your trucks will turn out great but I had been looking forward to the final mah deuce camper.... It's sort of like having one of your favorite tv shows cancelled after 5 years;)...

    Ideal Tire setup on M35a2

1100-20 size like the G177 tires. They can be dualled and look good. They arent hard to find anylonger (at the moment) because of all the 5 ton trucks coming out of GL with them on.
