Winches are heavy, average weight comes in around 75-100 pounds minus the mount. That's a lot of weight swinging from the shackles.
I appreciate the out of the box thinking with your mount idea but I think its more trouble than its worth and could potentially be dangerous.
Using something...
If I recall, the glow plug resistors are not avalable at a part store. The resistors were specific to the CUCV and not a commercial part.
You can feed 12v to the relay from the 12v buss bar in the firewall next to the relay itself. Eliminates the need for the resistors all together.
The rear window regulator being a POS is one of a few reasons I'm leaning toward the soft top. Also water leaks from the hardtop that I can't seem to track down, the open air driving and shedding 300lbs from the truck are all factors.
I hate to dig this one up again but I'm close (a few months) away from getting one of these.
I'm trying to get some pictures of how the rear window fastens to the tailgate.
If anybody here has one please snap a picture for me, it would be greatly appreciated.
What your referring to is the lockout. There isn't much to them, once you take them apart you'll see what I mean. All the guts of the lockout have to come out in order to get the spindle nut off.
