The three Goodyear tires on my 757 have the following datecodes: MCM1 62C050, MCM1 62C070 and MCM1 62C080.
The tires were made at the Danville, Virginia plant, where mostly aircraft tires are manufactured, according to internet searches. The tires have more anti-ozonant agents added and seem...
I'm very curious about the date codes on your Goodyear tires. After the m656 series trucks were retired after some 15 years in service with the Pershing 1A in Germany in the late 1980's, the tires were most likely not manufactured/needed any longer.
This is from one of my Goodyears:
The 4-digit...
Hmm...these tires are exceedingly rare, they were only used on one series of trucks in production, the m656/xm757/xm791. I have personally only recovered 5 (five) during the 12 years that I have owned my xm757, none of them Goodyear, which never even got their own FSN #.
These images show the...
Wonder if the grooving wasn't done after the tire was worn to extend the life...
not so easily done on a new tire. Never done it, so I could be wrong, any comments?
Don't know, the part number on the m656/xm757 truck axle (front) is FM210RDAX5, 6.40 ratio...not what is shown here in the first pictures in this thread.
Hey Rusty, the wheels appear to be mounted on standard m656/xm757 axles, which feature 100% air operated brakes (see post #36 in this thread).
Typical illustration of one axle:
When using the standard heater control box, the HI mode is locked out during start-up. The calibration of fuel and air flow is critical for a proper start. I checked the wiring in the box and the diagrams are not drawn correctly as shown in the attached images.
The circulation pump is only...
Found a cable, actually for the Benmar heater, but can easily be modified for the SW units. Also, a control box, which I don't need any longer, so you'll get a PM shortly.
The HI/LO ranges are applicable to the coolant heaters and a circulation pump can be installed to run in the "HI" mode.
As...
Correct, the control box is the same for the SW coolant and personnel heaters, which both rely on the wick for ignition. The Benmar coolant heater uses a different control box and has no wick. Can't believe the bucks!
The 3-way motorized valves I use were purchased on ebay 7-8 years ago. The are surplussed/used aircraft valves. I paid about $35/ea. Two required, one for supply and one for return.
Still working very well.
Sorry for not being very active on this forum during the last several years, but noticed this thread today.
Having had bad experience with check valves and solenoid valves when using biofuels, I decided to go with motorized valves for my xm757 dual tank system. Here is one image showing the two...
