It really isn't worth trying to sneak a gun onto base, bring a baseball bat, balls and a few gloves.. Aluminum works better ;)
I hate Ft Polk!!!! Spent to much time there in the 90's after 2 all criminal regiment moved in.. had to ETS to PCS from Polk. Like I told a group of Lt's in the...
What have you ttried so far? I worked on my gasser for 3 wks trying to get it to run, finally cleaned the points and it fired right up.
I have a M45 Compressor truck.
The two places that might have the info you are looking for are:
1. The Army Safety Center, Ft Rucker, Al
2. The Ordance Museam, APG Md/ Ft Lee, Va
3. PS Magazine, Redstone Arsenal, Al
4. Tank and Automotive Command
1 & 2 are probably your best bet. PS Magazine only deals with current...
The front does remind me of the an A3, just not as ugly. I remember oogling over the Korean geuces tha last ime I was stationed there. They were so clean and new looking, even when they were being worked like a dog. The ROK military took care of their stuff. When I went to the War Museum in...
All new pioneer tools i've seen have been natuaral wood. From my experiance, they would get painted when the CO got a wild hair up his backside wanting everything to be painted. I've seen both ways and a mixture of both. Depended on hoe anal the unit wanted to be. I know spray painting the...
Look in the TM section for SMARPI 9-2320-209-14&P Split Air-Hydaulic Brake System (Modified M44A2 2-1/2 Ton Series Truck) It covers the daul circut system for the A2 series trucks.
The master cylinder mount is diffrent from the single circut system. Having worked on A2's with single and daul systems, and A3's. I would work on getting an A3 Parts truck and mount the remote resivoir somewhere in the cab. All the parts are soemwhat avalible, but the cost is high to do the...
If your buffalo is a M149, here's a warning from the TM
WARNING

Boneyard, Camp Taji, Iraq
This is the final resting place before being shipped to the scrapper. There are many Russian vehicles and a few American vehicles. I found four M809 series 5 tons sitting out in the mud, one tractor and three cargo trucks. I plan on taking a few parts off the tractor...
replace rubber brake lines, if you haven't already. While you have a wheel cylinder off, check the steel lines for rust buildup (ask how i know). Might want to check to see if your brake shoes have the old or new style hold down. Fresh brake fluid if you're running DOT 3.
Check out the troubleshooting section of the TM.

Sounds like you have a wiring problem if the generator checks out ok.
found out that the bike's not abondoned.. looks to goood to be abondoned. It belongs to a Colonel of the comapny were training. He found out I was a mechanic through one of the interpreters and has asked if I could find out why it runs bad.. sounds like test drive time :)
Thanks Guys,
It is a russian bike, the sn plate is all crylic letters.. my battle buddies that found it told me they found this WWII motorcycle sitting unattended. I figured a bike that old had to be in bad shape. After doing some searching on the net.. it was built sometime between '98-'00...
Hey Guys,
There's this Russian Motorcycle sitting on a Iraqi Army compound. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the type, year, and any other pertinant information. I have looked it over and all seems to be complete and in good shape. It missing a electric switch under the petrol tank and...
Don't go towards the light..
The hardest thing about old engines is cleaning/setting points for the first time. I've seen grown men run away from point ignitions LOLrofl
When I got my M45, I had to clean the points before the engine would start.
