Chuck,
There's a proportioning valve between the front and rear brake systems, just like split systems on automobiles. It hasn't even been discussed in this whole thread.
There are pros and cons to the dual system that later deuces were equipped with. If I was going to do the dual brake...
Tim,
When I bought my deuce from Kelly's Jeeps. He told me the truck had come from across the lake. There seems to have been an avid MV collector on your side of the lake, Ron Schwary, but he died more than a few years ago and the stuff that was left was left sitting were it was. If you see...
Imagine a large slobbering dog that constantly drools everywhere. Now imagine a large desie doing the same thing. Also called desiel slobber. Caused when the engine/ generator isn't run under sufficient load.
Or dying from sever depression.
I had a car fall off jack stands when I was pulling the rear axle off. Didn't relise/ know that the car willl fall when the jack stands are under said axle and the U bolts are removed from the leaf springs.
Thanks for the reminder to be aware of the...
This isn't the people that were located in Many, La? There was also a MV parts dealer outside Ft Polk, but they dealt mostly with units rotating into JRTC for training.
I know of some houses in the new orleans area with the windows still boarded up since Katrina hit, The people inside are still waiting for the BIG ONE to hit. lol
This reminds me of a story I heard while I was stationed at ft polk. A farmer found a M60 tank buried on his property( which bordered Ft Polk's training area. The story goes something like this: Tank sunk into swamp during a training exercise and was considered a loss. Land is sold and filled to...
I agree, not all people are computer savvy, My wife has a degree in computer science and has trouble doing stuff on the computer (so much for our higher education system). Just because someone is unfamiliar or unable to figure out the "search" function, please no more, "that's been covered...
motorpool spec restoration, that's a good line. Never heard of a motorpool restoration. I know there's get that damn truck fixed and mission capible. Maybe replace the broken parts and throw a new coat of paint on over the dirt so it looks clean. LOL Sorry your having a bad time with your...
I was unlucky enough to have my brakes fail on me while i was moving my duece. I knew better than try to move it, but deceided to risk it due to time constraints. Brakes failed and I hit my ford ranger (it was towing). I was lucky enough that it was only the tailgate that suffered and my dad...
I may or may not be there tonight to meet everyone, my daughter's 6th birthday is today. I might convince her that she needs to see big green trucks like the one in grandma's backyard( my orphaned deuce). I will be around tomorrow to meet everyone.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, The spot for the SS HQ is available to purchase. The spot is yellow Q3/Q4. If anyone is interested, let me know asap and pay via the Donate tab on the SS menu bar.
Thanks,
Marcus
That used to be the 5th Infantry Division Memorial. How names change with unit moves. Next time you're at Ft Polk, check out the post museum. It's located behind the Post Theater. It's small, but has some more MV's located in a fenced area.
