It's about €2000 or $2400.
I believe these trucks get "old-timer" status (40 years or older) in Germany, meaning they are exempt from road taxes and lower insurance rates, making them affordable to drive.
Sounds like your unhappy with the lift and wheels? Are you sure they are H1 wheels? IF the rims are H2, I would take those off your hands if you decide to return to stock. I already have 8 of the tires tho...
Good to see another CUCV owner from Europe on here! I looked through the TMs for you, looks like the T in the fuel line is used for winterization kits (auxiliary heater).
If you're not familiar with TMs, go check them out.
I was going to build a simple spray booth. Even tho the paint I used is supposed to be able to be applied by brush and roller and I used the brush thinner from the same manufacturer, I was not happy with the result when painting the D60 axle. Anyway, I ended up doing something else. It's not...
Can't answer that. Tried to find some info but couldn't find anything. Take some measurements and compare. Not just for the manifold but for the plumbing as well. If the plumping doesn't match up I guess you could fab your own.
Check for a diamond marking in the valley and heads underneath the valve cover. Who knows... I got lucky. So did this guy. If you don't want to read the whole thread, in short, I came across a 6.5 for sale sitting inside an ice resurfacer. Wasn't even looking for one at the time, but it turned...
What casting is that 6.5 block? Who knows, maybe you got lucky and got an improved one.
That mechanical fuel pump needs to go if you turbo your it. I bought a brand new HMMWV lift pump and had it shipped across the ocean before I figured out that I need to switch to an electric pump... However...
I'm going to turbo mine using a HX40II turbo, mounts the same as stock. When you research these engines you will find lots of posts mentioning cracked blocks. Especially the older blocks, like the 6.2.. I would suggest new (thicker) head gaskets, new head studs (ARP seems to be preferred) and...
Have not done it myself yet, but I've been reading into it a lot as preperation for doing so. If it's a side-mount turbo it will fit. Most who do the swap just turn up the fuel a bit, however a Stanadyne 4911 pump would be nice, it's setup for a TD, check what pump is on your donor. Exhaust...
How about this one or this one. Price is a bit steep, but great models, great detail. Will take some work, the resin cast isn't perfect. Needs some cleaning and fixing here and there.
I got the M1008 and found some HMMWV wheels on eBay to make it look like my truck. Never got around to putting...
Interested to see what you come up with. I'm looking into improving the cooling of the 6.5 TD on my K1500. Most, if not all will be copied onto the 6.5 I have for my CUCV. Anyway, I came up with a high flow waterpump, 21" fan, severe duty fan clutch, Champion radiator and the Paradox cooling...
1. It should have a heat shield, but it's common to not be re-installed after a starter replacement.
2. Should pull out. Held in place by a grommet.
3. From what I remember, just the transmission mount. Maybe the linkages. Lines and hoses should have enough slack?
4. Like you said. Be careful...
Pretty sure you will find a buyer. Not sure how the market is over there, but I'm guessing (this close to original) it is a niche item, but eventually the right enthusiast will come by. Good luck!
It was during winter, but you'd expect a shop to have a curing room or whatever. Guess I haggled too much and got what I paid for.
The primer I have is from De Ijssel Coatings. Very well known in the marine world (at least, over here). It's called ZF Primer, and is a 2K epoxy primer. I guess...
Wow, 2nd time I had to skip pages to find this thread. Nobody working on their trucks anymore? :(
Last evening I spent a couple hours wire wheeling the D60. A bit more detailing and it's ready for epoxy primer.
And here's the rust forming on the frame I was talking about before:
It's...
