hndrsonj,
Kudos to you for the eagle eye on spying the special nature of that truck.
And a profound thanks for preserving that piece of history! We are fortunate to have you as one of our members. I hope the project gives you 2 1/2 tons of fun!

Rocco,
It sounds like you already know there is a demand for complete instrument panels for the MF.
If you could "cherry pick" stuff like winch "kits", hard tops and other tasty items, you could probably generate some bank.
Funny how one mans trash....

Been wondering about that myself. I acknowledge buying a trailer is like ordering a bob kit, but I worry that the springs are too wimpy.
What are your reasons for recommending deuce springs?

We could continue to use the existing map. Just add more colors to the pins to represent the various types of locations.
If Slim, None or Stretch can't do it, Someone will.

I have been able to "unfreeze" a few clutches by driving them. The disc becomes stuck to the flywheel after sitting for a long time and can be freed by some driving in an open area free of obstacles or surprises.
Rick
shootER,
How does the layout work? Does the tank do a slow roll along the arc of the layout and receive the rounds through the hatch via hand loading?
Sorry for the fundamental questions, I have zero mil and ammo handling experience.

3 questions:
What is the NSN of the M172A1?
What other Mil trailers could be used to haul a deuce?
Any advise on if the Mil trailers have any advantage over civvy trailers, when it comes to hauling a 13k deuce? (cost, performance, cool factor)
Thanks to all,
Rick
The battle for sure, but the war......I don't think so.

1red, I hope you get your title and you realize your goal.
Regardless of what others may have thought, I read your posts as nothing more than frustration with ITS and their incompetency followed by cover-up.
No harm done here. Carry on.

I ran a 12v Warn winch on my 24v Landcruiser for 3 years. I used the winch about a dozen times without problems.
When it finally failed, one of the "in" relays failed. The pull in windings burnt out. I replaced all four solenoids with 24v units and have continued to operate the winch as a 12v...

A hunert fifty bucks is a lot of salad these days. I have more time than ever to do things myself and relish the opportunity to keep the green. Especially now that I am not giving GL any business.
If you have access to a welder, lathe and dial indicator kit, why not try and DIY?
Rick
I once measured the air filter restriction sensor on my Landcruiser and found the sensor tripped at less than 3 inches of vacuum, below the noticable deflection of the gauge, so I doubt a "normal" gas engine vacuum gauge would serve as a reliable filter restriction indicator.
