looks to me like there is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to much wire there and not enough heat... I think after a trip down a dirt road that will be laying on the road. Not tryin to be a **** but I would rework that as soon as possible
Good god, you guys are somthing else. How about you try and contribute some tech and info to the site??
The 100 post rule is so that people who have been members here for several years have an idea of what kind of people they are dealing with. It is sure noce to have an idea of what kind of...
The tear strength of a standard MIG wire is much stronger than most bolts. 50k-60k tear weight will exceed most hardware with exception of expensive grade 8 hardware. Welding is the preferd route if strength and durability are needed.
No offence intended I can assure you they are never going to fail at the weld full weld on the front and rear it's not goin anywhere.
Carry on your build is lookin killer.
Very nice, wish I could find me a set.
my only concern is being a welder by trade you have alot of start stops on your welds, if you must stop and go alot you need to run your stops into your starts. Penetration sucks anyway everytime you start or stop but if you run one weld into another one...

I will be curious to see what yall come up with
6.9 Powerstroke huh...... Do you mean 6.9 IDI, or 7.3 IDI, or 7.3 Powerstroke, 6.4 Powerstroke, 6.7 Powerstroke The 6.4 and 6.7 powerstrokes are common rails so I would avoid them in the name of simplicity, but the power capability is definately there but they would be $$$$ an old HPOP 7.3...
So you paid 25k the way it sits or you have budget of 25k for the entire build? That is a TON of money for a shell and frame... Why waste your time with a 4bt 3.9 when the 6bt 5.9 is a much better option and the price would be very similar in price and the performance would be no match...
i just hit a junk yard and took my hoist off of a Topkick sand/plow truck for under 800 bucks. Only reall pita I ran into was the frame rails on the bed needed to be coped out wider.
