Welcome to the forum. The first thing to do is download all of the TMs, all of which are located on this site. M35A2 trucks don't necessarily leak oil or grease. Poor previous maintenance is usually the culprit. You obviously need to replace both front boots and axle seals. I would...
I know the compressor is supposed to run all the time, but it was charging the tanks until I swapped the wiring harness with a new one. I guess it's possible there was a failure somewhere in the pneumatic system that coincided with my work. I don't hear any mechanical noise from the...
I know you said that you checked the hydraulic fluid, but did you check both tanks? One is 11 gallons and the other is 21 gallons. One is for the front and the other is for the rear. You also said that the belt wasn't squealing, but it could be slipping without noise. Curling the loader...
I'm in the middle of replacing the front wiring harness on my FLU419 due to severe mouse damage. I have it installed, but some things don't work anymore. I'm slowly getting it sorted out with about 98% functionality. However, one of the things that has me puzzled is the air compressor. The...
Have you downloaded and read the TMs? How about the Student Handout? The Student Handout is particularly useful with the FLU419. I've attached a copy in case you don't have it.
I have an M116A2 with an MEP003A mounted on it and I believe the cover is identical with what you need. It is exactly as pictured in the diagram. I have attached a photo of mine installed. The dimensions are as follows.
Length: 10 inches
Width: 2-3/4 inches
Height: 3 inches
Screw Holes: 4...
I installed the new battery / accessory switch. Changing the switch was a royal pain, laying on my back with my head under the dash. Everything works and the engine starts fine now. The problem is that right before I installed the new switch, everything started working. I have no idea if...
That was the first thing I tried, but no joy. My NOS switch just came in today. Not looking forward to replacing it as there is virtually no room. I'm also replacing the starter relay. I know it doesn't have anything to do with my current problem, but it is extremely corroded. Part of the...
I've disconnected everything and cleaned the connections. I have 24VDC at both the starter relay and solenoid. There are two separate wires labeled 11 feeding the battery/accessory switch. The switch sends power to the windshield wipers and heater blower on one leg and the other goes to...
Those frequency gauges are very unreliable. You should get a Kill-A-Watt and plug it into the convenience outlet. I have the Kill-A-Watt EZ model. They work great and are very accurate.
Last year, back in October, My M35A3 refused to start when I tried to depart from the Southeastern Military Vehicle Rally. With the truck in neutral and the accessory switch on, engaging the start switch did nothing. The instruments came on, but the low air buzzer did not, even though the...
Where is the brake light diode mounted? Mine was simply hanging on the end of the wire on the front wiring harness and not mounted. I couldn't find it in the TMs.
EDIT: Found it.
Yes, I contacted Mercedes in Germany. I got transferred 4 - 5 times before I got to someone that had any technical information. I initially indicated that I was an investor. That got me by the automatic no help. That process is my secret weapon when you need help with any public traded...
The originals are BA7s 24V 1.5 watt. That spec is what I couldn't find. I talked with Expedition Imports and Mercedes and they told me that they weren't made anymore. I found some online and ordered them, but the company cancelled the order when they couldn't obtain them. You can definitely...
I just ordered 8 new LED bulbs on Amazon, Ruiandsion BA7s LED bulbs, white, 3898, 10 VDC - 26 VDC. The total cost for 8 bulbs was $21.58. I believe these will work but I won't know until I receive them. If they work, I'm going to replace all of my bulbs with these LED bulbs.
I need some 001-544-53-94-MBZ light bulbs for my FLU419. These are the bulbs that go in the display showing PTO, air, etc. status. Expedition Imports, Pelican, et al don't carry them anymore. These are 24VDC 5 watt. Does anyone know where these might be purchased? European source?
