ALL Steel Soldier members need to step up to the plate and STOP circumventing the OHV ONLY clause. It is going to kill it for not only your HMMWV, but ALL HMVs that have been legally registered for decades.
Hey, I have a "Not A Flame Thrower", I like cake too! I agree, if people WOULDN'T try to go around things, the OHV only deal, There might not be the hubbub that is happening now, happening. It boils down to following the rules, which most people do not do now.

Use a sealant like Permatex 1 or 2. #1 gets hard, #2 stays pliable. It is gas/oil resistant and will fill the cracks if there are any.

Nothing is going to rust in the fuel sysem unless it is contaminated and sits with H2o in it. As long as you do your checks so you can keep an eye on what you put into it....if the supplier as a bad load, you will get it.... and, from experience, stay away from places that sell bio fuel, a...
I am real rusty on them, but as stated above, either a gear pump or the fuel jumpers. Is it way over full on oil? If so, pull the VC, bet it is a jumper.
It is now parked next to it's transport trailer and has been listed for sale! This is not the Museums property, it belongs to a long time friend. It is a cool piece of equipment, has a mess of extras and comes with the trailer. The Museum has an Australian carrier, or it might consider buying...
I do know that the cylinders are electroplated. The plating likes to peel off. When that happens, the engine needs to come apart and be re plated. Get a bore scope and inspect the cylinders.
