Hi Jack,
You indicated that you are running 120/240 Vac and you are measuring 50 amps of current. My question is what leg are you measuring 50 amps on? In a split-phase system running a house, the loads on L1 and L3 are rarely balanced and the difference is current flows on the neutral line. I...
There is a lot that COULD be eliminated. The engine is very basic at its core, requiring only pressurized fuel and and a quick spin (starter) to get it running.
The gen-head is a standard 12 wire with a field coil. The 12 wires could be permanently wired in 120/240v configuration. You could...
It will do all the common plastics, PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PVA, PET, etc.
Where it excels is ABS or other materials that require a heated enclosure to reduce warpage, soft materials like TPU, and running multiple color prints, all at much higher speeds than other machines.
It is also a...
@Icesythe7 , Between you and my friend, I broke down and invested in a better printer. It was worth every penny.
The speed of the thing is incredible. The quality of print is way better too.
Never seen a thread, but that is totally possible. You really need to understand the controls system, but the engine and genhead are very simple at their core. If I was going that far, I would replace all the switches and relays with simplier digital controls, hardwire the genhead for...

You mentioned typical outage is 1700-2000 watts for ~4hrs at a time, 4-5 times per year.
If I were in your situation, I would purchase a 4500-6000 watt inverter/charger and appropriate amount of battery capacity. My choice would be a pair of Outback VFX 2800 watt inverters wired...
Always. Always have cap or something rigid to plug the air intake when working through diesel engine issues incase you need to suffocate a runaway engine. Dont use a rag, it will just get sucked into the air filter or worse, the engine.
These guys are cheap load banks. Some models have a 3k/4k/5k load select switch

- Put some load on it and get those IPs to open up and really push the fuel. Diesel's don't use much fuel unloaded.
- 80 psi cold and hot is a little strange. Pressure should come down some when hot. Run through the TMs and verify the gauge and sender are working properly. Many of us tee in...
- The air filter can be reached with the top on, it's just mildly difficult. It helps if the thumb screw is clocked correctly.
- If the unit is hard to start, there may still be air in the injector lines. How hard is "hard to start"?
- Best way to store these units? Opinions vary, but I...
Are any of your tools 240V?
30 amps at 120V through an RV plug maxes out at 3600 watts. That is not enough to keep a 1040 from wet stacking. Even a 5kw generator would easily handle this and its likely the average load would be much lighter.
If your loads are limited to 3600 watts, you may...
