Mainly for height reasons, I pulled the military 5th wheel off one of my M931A2s and replaced it with a Fontaine slider from a big truck junkyard. That lowered the nose of my trailers by almost 9", and allows the 5th wheel to move back a bit to accommodate short necked trailers to keep the...
Probably fuzzy (knobby?) logic, but it seems Kendelrio has this one well in hand, and much as I like all the contestants, I just can't see a truck as nice as ToddJK's get only one vote, so....

Is there an advantage to shifting that way?
I've always driven my 813 the way the military taught me - clutch in, blip throttle, shift, clutch out

Good looking truck!
One thing to look at is the emergency fuel shutoff. Unlike the deuce, which resets when the handle is pushed back in, the M816/813 etc. have to be manually pushed back into the run mode.
A buddy of mine bought an M820 cheap at a police auction because no one, including the...
It's unfair for y'all to regularly introduce extra stress into my life - how am I to pick just one vehicle??!!?? Aaaargh!!!! o_O
And Kendelrio, I can honestly say I never contemplated the need for a 12' skeleton until recently, now I keep eyeballing the d@&n things and saying "Hmmmm...."...

Well, now that you mention those, this is my stripped DRASH trailer. ;)
Don't know why that one didn't cross my mind with the original question, I suppose because I consider it more of an LMTV trailer than Humvee. I'll have to go measure how long/wide the deck is. I know it is 56" of clear...
It is not unusual for vehicles to change services, either when no longer needed by the original service or when immediately required by another.
In the Marines, we usually benefited from other services' cast offs, but in a rare turn of events most of the Marine M35s went to the Army when the...
Y'all sure don't make it easy to pick just one vehicle!! A lot of times it comes down to voting for one of the two that are running close, which seems to happen regularly.
There isn't a one of the vehicles in this month's set that I would not have voted for, they are all great!
