My experience with an old fuel filter. My son bought a 1009 last year...dragged it out of the woods. Sat since 96. When I pulled the fuel filter off the mount it still had clean red diesel in it. That being said it depends on how long yours sat plus if it had bio diesel in it. That can mold up...
Here's pics of one of mine. I had the original spots then put a 320 shelter in the back so had to lower it an inch. You can find the mounts on ebay pretty easy. There was a bunch on nos surplus for a while. I bought several. The guard can be harder to find but not impossible. Keep a lookout on...
I bought a basic rivnut tool on amazon and used the 3/8 18 rivnut to replace them. Just grind the top ring off the body close, and the old ones will fall out. Very easy to do.

If you already have the wire, I wouldn't worry about it. You could put the end of the stock wire on for the fusible link. All of mine are wired like the pic I posted. The starter bracket attaches to the end of an outer bolt for the case or an aluminum arm with a stud. There's 2 different...
Nice!! The wiring for the glow plug relay could have been easier...the output wire on the resistor can be removed and installed on the 12 volt bar. It keeps the original fusible link. No need to add a wire.
As far as the solenoid goes, I bought a 12 volt one for a stock 6.2 and took the...
Well...having a starter not turning over without a light smack isn't a big deal. That's not really a wiring 24 volt issue. Swap out the solenoid contacts and it should be fine. I'll have to look up which one I use. Have you replaced the starter relay yet?
On another note what did you need 6...
This makes me happy. I'm glad you got it figured out. Without wiring the resistor back in and testing the voltage on the output side there's no way to know if it's not dropping the volts to 12. Since the glows weren't working the resistor hasn't gotten hot in a long time so all that engine dust...
Yes I think they used them from 89 up. You're right about running fine with single ones though but if you're in a very hot place it might need more. My experience with cars getting hot while moving usually points to weak coolant flow or something related to that. Even a bad head gasket, that's...
I have used a few of the high flow water pumps and work very good. I have not experienced to much flow for the thermostat to flow yet. That being said, the rad hoses get pretty stiff faster than my non high flow pumps. Have you looked into the dual thermostat crossover pipes yet? That could...
If you don't have the round piece of plastic around the striker you can make one out of half inch pex pipe. Slice the side and roll it on the striker. Will make closing the door very easy. I have done it on all mine.
Just to clarify the temp sensor that turns on the wait light is different than the one that turns on the low coolant light. The one to look for is on the rear of the drivers side head....way back by the vacuum pump. The manual switch if you did a ground to the 3rd wire on the glow plug card...
I'd say there's 2 main things that'll do that. If you have the resistor still hooked up, it could be giving more than 12 volts to them. Second is the single wire temp sensor, or double if it's been changed, could be broken or the wire is not giving resistance to the glow plug card, making the...
Having the truck smoke when warming up really points to the glow plugs on that bank are ded. These trucks really do not like to start without glow plugs even warmed up after sitting a short time. I wouldn't go through the testing of injectors and such yet. Smoking doesn't mean to much fuel...
I have a question...how do you plan to split the power to 2 different places...barn and home? Run 240 to a splitter and do 120 to each from there? How are you going to keep the legs balanced..ish amp wise?
So first off....this has to be one of the best written questions I have ever seen on any online forum. You have done so much already and answered most questions. You have gotten the fuel issues figured out with the filter housing. The water sensor is usually what leaks but can be fixed with a...
