The D5 stuff is what you want to get to spray into these switches.
Back in the day it was just Deoxit, then there was progold and faderlube all made by Caig labs. now it seems they call everything deoxit.
With those tractors fuel rotation definitely is not an issue for you. I just refilled my fuel stores after burning all the fuel I bought last fall off in my CUCV. I am buying on road diesel so I can burn it in my truck if needed and I treat my tanks with a mix of Biobor JF and Startron diesel...
It looks like the coil voltage for that contactor is 28VDC so nevermind the 400Hz spec. With a component like that the most important info is the coil voltage and the current rating. The reason it says 400Hz on the side is most likely because a contactor that was rated for up to 400Hz was needed.
I have not seen those systems in person and what all is involved in them but just looking from the you tube videos of it running it looks to me like a (relatively) simple PLC controlled generator. Probably a commonly available HMI screen with a PLC could be adapted to make it work and of course...
Fuel rotation is not a problem for me. The fuel in my aux and the day tank are treated and my CUCV gets about 9 MPG so I have a handy place to burn what the gen does not use... In-fact, I haven't got any diesel at the gas station since last Sept. or so. Just been using my fuel stores so I can...
Guyfang, I do not run my set that often since I have to get it out of my garage and hook up the load bank to really get a good run on it (hassle). I try to run it every few months but other than that it mostly just sits in my garage.
One thing I do- do though is maybe once a month I will go...
I think you could run your house off the 803 with some consideration to what loads are on at a time. I do not think it will be able to provide enough power for you to go about your day as normal running hot water heater and dryer and 4 burners on the stove and the AC at the same time. Those...
The truck is a dually and it is still 4.56 gears. I checked the axle to make sure it was still the dana 70 and sure enough it is cast into the housing 70HD on the axle.
I was just really surprised to find out it was a limited slip and not the locker that I thought it had. Seems to work just...
If it does turn out just to be a dirty switch I think the deoxit will probably help. I have used all kinds of different contact cleaners found at automotive stores, and brands like techspray but the deoxit is probably one of the best out. That stuff has brought back many a piece of vintage audio...
I had a somewhat similar issue with my 803. The % current meter seemed accurate but it would trip the overload way too early. I thought perhaps a bad current transformer or overload circuitry. On the advice of members here I took the top off and cleaned the reconnection switch with about a full...
Finally got around to changing out my diff fluid front and rear on the 1028A2 and got to looking at pics of detroit lockers online. Hmm Mine looked nothing like those. Then I find a picture of this dana "power lock" limited slip. What the heck! Looks exactly like what is in my rear diff...
$225 for a small plastic bottle?
The one you have a picture of looks like total overkill, there are any number of them you could find that will probably fit in there almost like stock and use. All they are is a container with a bottom feeding inlet and a vent. I found one that looks like a...
I am just getting around to replacing the diode today. Been driving the truck since last sept. without the diode and no issue. Still have not found out what it does there.. The search continues.
Here is a pic of the overload spring everyone is talking about. This is on my M1028A2 (notice the bed is not stock it is a deuce bed) Also this was with 2200lbs of wood pellets in the back.. FWIW my vin starts with 1GCHD and I have the NP205 transfercase. My drivers door does have an M1008 tag...
Thanks for clearing this up. I have been having an issue with my steering seeming to just stop responding for a second (noticeable most in sweeping turns) and found a loose drag link. The front one. The rear was just replaced a few months ago. Anyway long story short I look up the P/N in the TM...
Like the OP i have never served but I do have a lot of military surplus gear because I like the utility of it... The price.. The american made quality and its all about business and no frills. So when I wanted to get a truck again It seemed like the obvious choice. I wanted something that was...
I know we're getting a little off topic here but just imagine... Power outage.. Neighbors out trying to pull start their little champion screamer. Another neighbor maybe has a propane standby kick on.. but no.. you sir go out.. cold beer in hand. 1911 on the hip and fire up your D424A and as...
I keep mine in my walk out basement and just roll it out when I need to use it. I plan on keeping the gen longer than the house so no point in making a slab for it and installing it permanent... Sure its made to be outside unprotected but why not just take care of it and keep the elements out...
