This is what I did... I have the day tank full plus about 45 gallons in the aux tank and another 20 gallons in Jerry cans. Plus another 20 in my truck if the tank is full.
More details on my 803 thread here if you are interested...
Glad you got it sorted. I was going to suggest measuring the voltage. When the coil voltage gets too low the coil doesn't have enough power to fully close the contacts anymore.
These should work.
7.5 ohm 20w 1% tolerance. Still a chassis mount but different so you'll have to tap a couple of holes to mount it.

5 week lead time. I would imagine someone...
I don't know the specs on those resistors but you should be able to get whatever you need from www.mouser.com As long as you know the resistance and wattage that is really all you need. I believe those are wire wound resistors.
FWIW when I got my truck I found out someone had installed the 60G glow plugs but left the stock resistor setup in place. It did have a manual switch though. At least with those 60g plugs you don't need to be as concerned with them expanding and not being able to get them out.
If you would like to test the aux system take the fuel cap off the tank and pull out the metal strainer tube. Inside the tank to the right is the float switch assembly. You can reach in there and manually move the top float switch up and down to turn the pump on and off.
When I did this I...
I added coolant temp and oil pressure. I teed off the oil pressure sender at the back of the motor and that works like a charm. The coolant temp I installed where the glow plug circuit sensor was located at the back of the motor and that works very poorly. That spot seems to get air pockets...
Probably because what I found in my own hookup endeavor is that 50A plugs are the biggest you can get commonly available. 52A output is 100%, as we know these units will do more than that. Since the generator will put out as much current as possible until it trips overload or worse it is a good...
I wanted something that would not promote moisture against the tank and to pad the tank from the supports. I store the generator indoors but the felt seemed like just the trick and it was already on hand!
I got around to finishing the aux tank today and filled it up. Yesterday I painted...
Thought I would update a little bit with some details on the Aux fuel tank I have added to my generator...
So basically I wanted to add more fuel storage for the generator so I can be prepared to run it for power outages up to a week without re-fueling. I looked at transfer tanks... then I...
I am in the process of getting my 50 gallon AUX fuel tank setup added to the trailer. Does anyone know what size and type of fitting I need to use for the aux fuel inlet on the generator?
All good points above. One other thing that must be considered is the rating for the terminals in the equipment you are hooking into. For example you cannot use the rating for wire at 90 degrees when the terminals are rated at 75 degrees... you need to step down to 75 degree rating.
From my...
When it comes to wiring it depends on your distance and type of wire etc. My setup consists of 20' of 4/4 SOOW cable from my generator to my inlet box. From there I have 4AWG THHN run about 10' inside of conduit from my inlet box to my generator transfer switch which then uses 2-2-2-4 service...
Those glow plug wires look seriously overheated at the connections... that is a little scary. I wonder if they got stuck on at some point.
The fuel leak up top there probably is that return hose since most of us have had leaks there. If that is the case you might also be able to detect it by...
I'm actually going to do almost exactly the same thing with my 803. Although I am going to get a smaller tank... I looked at some yesterday at a junkyard and picked out a 70 gallon tank off a Volvo I want to get and then mount it on the front of the trailer
Looks like you got yourself a nice set there! You could easily make your own load bank for not a ton of money and it is handy to keep around to give it a good workout every now and then.
And not to sound like an ass, but you are supposed to cross the safety chains on the trailer so they will...
You might want to check those two transistors or voltage regulators that are on either side of the board. If you punch in the number on the chip you can get a data sheet and once you know what it is you can find out how to test it... Sometimes components will test bad in circuit but when removed...
