Power for my Vic 1 and PRC-10

So, got the wires removed from the original plug. I used a propane torch to remove about a pound of old solder. Caution: molten solder is incredibly hot on bare skin! Got the replacement plug all cleaned up, which took about five minutes. Got my good soldering gun and soldered the wires to the...

Power for my Vic 1 and PRC-10

I may be trotting on old ground here but... I have a Vic-1 system. To power it, I want the current to go through a MX-7778/GRC electrical suppressor. If possible, I want the current also go to my PRC-10 radio. The problem, as many already know, it the cable that goes from the battery to the...

M35A2 - which radio used - where to install radio antenna

When I bought my M35A2 Air Force truck, there was a radio mount under the passenger seat. It appeared to be a RT-524 compatible mount. There was also a speaker installed to the right side directly behind the passenger seat. It’s positioned directly above external power plug.

    AF Blue M35

Sorry to hear that. It’s a beautiful truck, there’s going to be a line of admiring people just begging for a ride... I got the sticker, thanks! Now I no longer have a reason for procrastinating the repaint.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I use a sand blasting media that Menard’s sells. It not very expensive and it strips the paint, rust and everything else that sticks to metal. The sand blaster cabinet was sitting in a drive way with a for sale sign on it. $100.00 got a complete system.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I lucked out and got a top of the line sand blasting cabinet. I can put most parts I can remove from the trucks. I also have a small Craftsman portable blaster. What a mess! I cleaned three parts and stopped. I’m going to come up with a better idea. I’m leaning towards a wooden framed structure...

Saw a HMMWV with mounted .50 cal driving in Orange, Texas?

When I show War Wagon, I mount the .50’s and put ammo boxes in the trays. I leave them that way most of the time, it saves wear and tear on the guns. And no, they are not real. They are replicas I got from an online source. The only time I got pulled over was when I blew a stop sign. The officer...

    Military vehicle. radio group

Good question. I don’t know the answer but I pretty sure they don’t have the WWII spy vs spy radio tracking.

    WY/CO Chapter

Good question. Up until recently, I’d say Denver CO. Unfortunately, Colorado is messing with the rules governing former military vehicles. I’d have to say Cheyenne or Casper Wyoming.

    Military vehicle. radio group

They start out with fines. I don’t recall the dollar amount but you get penalized for every infraction. Basically, every time you hit the transmit button, you commit an infraction. They get really grouchy about “their” band widths.

    Military vehicle. radio group

Some information for dissemination: I’m putting a list together of manuals that cover just about everything military radio. One book in particular is a resource for any and all folks wanting to get into mil-radio. I’ve been going through my stack of parts and can say with some accuracy that I...

    WY/CO Chapter

I keep hoping for a closer show. Got a bunch of parts to sell/trade and a show would be a good opportunity.
