The solution was too easy, with hndrsonj's leadership and a phone call, the problem was found to be dirty points contacts. A little filing with my very old point file, it started sparking. We put everything back together and she started right up. Woot, Woot!!
Today, after charging the battery overnight, I reinstalled the battery. I poured gas down into the carb and checked to make sure fuel was getting to the carb from the gas tank. I crossed my fingers and ... forgot to change out the spark plugs. So, changed the plugs and set the gap to .40. Not...
It's been a few weeks since my visit to Boyce Equipment. I want to pass on my thanks to Mark and Rene for all their help.
I've been looking for a spare tire carrier for my M52A2. I'd heard about Boyce but could never get the time to stop by. After a sad visit to Oregon, we were passing right...
I can't remember posting anything on the dump truck. So I'll start anew. Got the truck some time ago. Finally got the list weeded down to the point I can work on it. Today was day one on trying to get it started. It was converted to 12 volt some time in the past. I grabbed a battery from the...
I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. I found a source for resin M60's. I plan on having it up front for the driver or I'll use it as a bail out gun. My next upgrade will be adding a twin .50 mount in the back of the bed.
Frank, I haven't forgotten I need to send you a copy of the manual. I've been out of town due to a death in the family. Once I get back, I'll get it sent.
.50 mount
I FOUND IT!!! Here's the TM for the so-called equilibrator mount. TM 9-1005-245-13&P, Chapter 11, "6650 .50 CAL MACHINE GUN MOUNT". Let me know if you need a copy of this chapter. I can scan it in and send you a copy.
Mount TM
I'm sorry I haven't been able to help with the TM. If memory serves me, yes, that is the correct TM. I've looked just about everywhere I can think of but alas, no TM. I recommend you get a copy, it'll help. As far as necessary, the hardest part is the spring. Be very careful with...
I came across an air filter I can't determine its application. The only info on it is Baldwin PA2538, anyone come across one of these that can identify it?
Pics below. There's a pic of each end, a full size pic of it and a comparison pic matched up next to a M35 filter.
many thanks
I got the manual from eBay ofi remember correctly. I found two sources of the mount, one was the all purpose mount book and the .50 M2 operation and maintenance book. Once I find it again (I have a very large number of TM books), I'll post its TM #.
Ive had my eye on one of those froze up...
Change to the plan: I've built a gun truck called War Wagon after a M35 from the 35th Transportation Co. It's a n evolving project, as I find parts and props I'll add them. Here's a photo:
I used the pins from one of my M35's to attach the... Hmm, drawing a blank here...them thingies that attach to the tie-down ring mounts and the tow bar. Anyway, they fit good with minimal play and I got the 211 home with zero issues. It was roughly a 10-15 mile journey.
I learned a lesson over the weekend. Actually a couple. First off, the GI ladder for access to the bed is not the optimal choice. Not sure how to replace it yet but I don't want to chance someone breaking bones because the fell off the ladder. Second lesson, I've got to come up with a good tarp...
If you still have the box fuel filter, that is probably your problem. I had the exact same issue. I replaced almost everything in the fuel system and still had the same problem. I even tried to find a replacement box filter mount. I learned that the M880 series Dodge box filter will not work...
Not sure. I'll be putting it side by side with my other truck and use the TM to figure everything out. I'll have to make a hard decision. Do I make the '54 complete or the '58. The '54 has an unknown leak in the engine cooling system but appears to have a good tranny. The '58 has a seized...
